thin folder suggestions?

Been through lots of folders and the 940 gets the nod for thin, light, strong. Its really hard to find a blade thin from spine to back of grip when closed.

a dream knife for me would be the kershaw knockout with a thumb ramp & better steel.

The Knockout was the first knife I thought of when I saw the thread title. Maybe you should just give it a ride for a while and see how it goes.

Benchmade 530 pardue is the thinnest lightest blade i have and its stil a nice size with 154cm steel. Spyderco chaparal is probably my next thinnest and has carbon fiber scales and s30v blade

this is my favorite lightweight knife. its really amazing, super thin, takes a nice edge. ambidextrous and its 1.8 oz

If you're talking almost paper thin, then i'd suggest a Mercator K55.
Pros:
Thin blade, great for slicing and cutting
Can take a razor edge
Nice, easy lock
Easily forgettable in a pocket
Really freaking attractive
Carbon steel

Cons:
Carbon steel (careful of rust, I learned the hard way)

Three ways to deal with this:
1) Force a patina;
2) Routine use of Tuf-Cloth or other preventative measures;
3) Buy the stainless version.

Check out the Enzo Birk Carbon Fiber in S30V ffg. Beautiful, extremely sharp, very flat. Has a pocket clip - I removed it.

Another suggestion for the Mercator. If you're okay with having a very "simple knife", there ain't much around that's thinner than these. The carbon steel versions sharpen easily to a very, very keen edge, and all said and done, you have a 3-1/2" locking folder that's 1/4" thick. I really like the spear-point blade shape too. They make it in stainless, though I don't know what kind.

Since they are so cheap, sometimes the blades can be sharpened poorly and un-centered, though. Baronyx (a vendor here) offer offers a "special" grade that shouldn't have those problems for under a few dollars more.

i think your op screams out 710. thin. belly. lefty. i carry mine every day and dont even notice its there.

For a thin sharp as hell blade I'd go with an Opinel #8 with Carbon Steel. I know it's cheap and simplistic but it's had such staying power for a reason.

If you're looking for something a little more modern I really enjoy my Speedform 2 with Elmax. Has nice smooth g10 scales as well. Even the Spyderco Junior with vg10 is awesome. It uses the compression lock found on the Paramilitary and Yojimbos.
