thin, narrow edc blades?

I think the Spyderco Chokwe is plenty thin/narrow. All around an awesome knife.

Impressive collection, ryanh121!

What's that Spydie just below the Leafstorm?

Thanks, wtlj. Wish I could find one of those...somehow I missed that sprint run.

Oh, my! I really like these! I have a number of them.

The obvious ones are the Leek (I think I have four), the BM 940, 940-1, and 943, the BM 530 and 531.

One non-obvious choice is a Kershaw Wild Turkey. I have a VG-10 Damascus version that is really beautiful.

I also have a couple of CRKT Ripples that work well in this category and they are truly beautiful knives. My girlfriend got a CRKT Eros for her clutch purse (and now she carries it everywhere). It's thin and lovely with a very stabby blade. She really likes it.

The Mini A100 is a nice knife as is the Boker Kwaiken, but they are much thicker than the Leek or the Eros, etc. The Mini A100 has some of the grippiest G10 ever, so beware. It will eat your pockets.

Speaking of grippy G10, I also have a Cold Steel Holdout II that is pretty flat, but it's also quite thick. It will tear your pockets out by the throats, if your pockets are so unfortunate as to have throats.

A couple of Spydercos fit the bill quite readily. The Centofante Memory, the Bradly Air, and the Chaparral are all quite thin and light with very slicy blades of high end steel, if you happen to swing that way. I find my stepped titanium Chap4 to be a real piece of art, but it, too, will eat your pockets.

At the high end, I like my CRK Mnandi in mammoth ivory and Devin Thomas Damascus. However, it's not for everyone.

There has never been a "thin and light" ZT. There. I said it. The only conceivable exception is my 0777M390. Which I love. Don't judge.

That Boker Urban Trapper is calling my name, though, so I'm ordering one.

Hi, i currently edc a benchmade 940, and it is pretty much perfect, I love the size and the thinness of it while still having a stout blade. Are there any other knives in this same category? I like narrow handles, and narrow blades because I keep it in the same pocket as my wallet and thinness is important to me. There is nothing wrong with the 940, but I am wanting to change things up
haha thanks.
I actually carry a Large CRKT Eros IN my wallet (or, more precisely, in the coin compartment of my wallet). I wouldn't say it has a stout blade, but it's a cool little flipper and it weighs practically nothing. It's the only knife I EDC every day come rain or shine.

My definition of an EDC Knife is a Knife that could be used on the worst day of your life. You want something that will last, built strong, you could take to war, and last close to indestructible. Make your choice based upon that criteria. But not for looks, or being pretty, or sexy. Buy for the worst day of life.

But if you have nothing more than a Wal-mart $9.99 special, it is a whole lot better than zero.

JMHO

A couple of options that haven't been mentioned are the CRKT Swindle and Spyderco Des Horn. The Swindle is a great flipper that has the blade fully concealed by the handle when closed for a slim profile, though the clip is a bit strange at first, and the Des Horn is decidedly unlike other Spydercos in the pocket.

The suggestions here are all truly great - all that come to mind for me, at least. The other option, if you are able to carry one, is a balisong. A Benchmade 32 or 51 is extremely slim in the pocket, but provides an ample blade for EDC.

Pick up a ZT0770 -- you'll be surprised...

I like my 0770, but while it's thin, it's not really narrow at all--it's about 150% the width of a BM 940, and about 200% the width of a Boker Urban Trapper.
