Does anyone know a good source for purchasing thin slitting saw blades for cutting the springs on liner locks ? Specifically i am looking for a about a 4" milling machine blade, preferably diamond abrasive.

Thank you,
-John

I bought a carbide one off ebay. Enco or McMaster might have what you're after.

Maritool has all sizes if the carbide type. I've cut lots of locks with these.

Yes, but a large diameter cutter will be more likely to interfere with material you do not want to cut. I would think a smaller key seat type slotting cutter would be better. And, they come thinner and run more accurately.

Thanks guys, i ordered a solid carbide from McMaster and a diamond wheel from ebay. I will see which one works best for Ti. I have been using the cheap ones from grizzly for stainless and they work fine, but figured i should upgrade for Ti.

onespdfrk, a 4" cutter works fine for what i am using it for and using a cutter that is a little thicker than a hacksaw blade makes the cleanup cut simpler.

I use HSS blades, 2 inch diameter. Run them very slow with lots of coolant/oil. I am getting 15 to 20 lock cuts out of each blade. The thin blades allow very precise cuts. Make sure you have the piece being cut very well supported. Any flex will destroy the blade.

A Hi Grade Carbide Brand is RobbJack. To get the most out of any slitting blade dial it in for wobble and concentricness.
I have used .020 - .060 RobbJacks slitting saws in in a tool room for many years. Costs more but preforms better.
Sincerely,
Dave

RobbJack is good, so is American Saw products and F&D Tool. Most domestic manufacturers hold good tolerance.
