Looking at a delica 4 and im pretty sure its my best bet, just want to know if there are any other smaller spydercos with a thin blade and something along the lines of vg-10 before i buy it in the next month or so

primary victims would be carboard plastics/shrink wrap and tape.

Stretch all the way. The taper and thinness of the blade is excellent and the ergonomics are better too. It is a very mean slicer. The Endura and Delica both stay a bit thicker as they make their way to the tip, then a bit more abruptly come to a point. The Stretch starts thinning from the back of the blade. And the height of the blade is also leaner making for less drag through denser material. It is the beat of both worlds between the Delica and Endura with better handling characteristics and a more useful blade shape. Don't let the looks deter you as I have heard many say its not visually appealing. Let the performance speak for itself. You will be hard pressed to find a better knife in the Spyderco lineup.

sounds good, primarily looking for performance for these tasks and general edc for this knife, i just got a nilakka for looks, though im testing it for edc and may adjust the edge bevel

The manix 2 i have also does well

Thinnest? The Chaparral is very thin and similarly sized. It's probably the thinnest blade of any folder that I own.

Dragonfly2 would be a good choice if you're looking for something Delica-esque with an even smaller footprint.

It's hard to argue against a Delica4 though. The reputation/popularity it has is very well earned.

I liked my Manix but the Stretch just blows it out of the water in all aspects for me. It cuts better, is better suited to the hand, thinner in blade profile and handle, and carries wonderfully due to the light weight and thinness of the handle. You will also appreciate the choil that the Delica lacks

The Chaparral is a good knife, considered more premium than the Delica with different/better steel, it's also noticeably thinner than the Delica, but is smaller in every other direction as well... I've actually got one I'll be putting up on the trade forum soon, it's just too small for me...

Are you just searching for one with the thinnest blade stock?
If so, I'd definitely second the Chapparal line. Same blade thickness as the little Ladybug.

Centofante 4, with only 2mm(.078") of blade thickness
(I mean Centofante 3 or 4)

the choil, you might have made up my mind.

i love that about my manix, very secure to work with.

looking up the chaparral and i must say, whenever i move on one of these, ill be torn. I'll wait till i have funds available and just wait for one to come across the for sale section.

A small knife with good steel and a thin blade, FFG really helping the theme, seems to be ideal for when im digging through a large pile of cardboard.

Thanks for the leads fellas, it gets old looking through every model when you're after a few select certain qualities

Among locking folders that are currently in production, the Chaparral and Centofante 3 have the thinnest (2mm) blade stock.

It may not be exactly what you are looking for in terms of looks, but the yojimbo 2 blade is very thin near it's cutting edge and I have never had anything that slices as well... for about $100 it's got an s30v blade steel and g10 handles with the compression lock. When it's discontinued people will wish they had one. Although I only got it a week ago it has stayed in my pocket despite getting a new SpyderHawk.... it's that good

Hola Filoso! Glad to see there is another Spanish forumite arround here.

I was also going to suggest a Centofante 3. It was my first Spyderco and with its hollow ground thin blade is probably the best slicer of all my folders. And it is also cheap.

Experiencias o comentarios? Gracias!
Gracias!

To you, English folks: I was wondering about getting my hands on the centofante, what's the general consensus about the lock and blade's capabilities and limits? (light prying, pressure, etc.). I wanted a super lightweight and thin slicer that could take as much abuse as possible, and this looked nice. Experiences or anecdotes? Thanks!

If you foresee any kind if prying I would recommend a full flat ground 3mm blade instead, slightly more slicing resistance but much stronger laterally (all else being equal)

absolutely davis, i do have a manix 2 with a 3mm ffg s30v blade

company box cutters suck and the manix does well, but hell i want more spydercos and this is as good a reason as any.
and by suck i mean they come in a holster of sorts and it gets yanked off. The holster part broke my first day and if things fail that fast its usually a theme so i started using a knife and havnt looked back.
