It's still going strong here in rural Pa. Elementary school through High school. Every morning before class officially began we'd have the national anthem and recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Kind of thought that was normal for every school, haha.

That was the original wording, I believe. We had to say the new version everyday in class. It was required and you could get in serious trouble for not doing it. We also had to stand for the National Anthem, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
