Things the ESEE 4 does better?

I took my 3MIL/CP to Iraq, this time. So far it has more than lived up to my expectations. I like it way more than my old KaBar...though, since it has been with me on every deployment since Desert Storm (had to upgrade to custom kydex along the way) I miss it. Cant believe I didnt bring it for old times sake...I just have a hard time packing something I have intention of using.

I think the 3MIL/CP is the very best combination of size, portability, functionality, and slicing capability. If you need something bigger, the 5 or the Junglas. Unless you just need the smaller heft of the 4, I think the other models leave it behind. IMO, its thickness/heft are its only outstanding qualities, over the others.

And every bag needs an Izula...

I'll post some pics, if I think about it.

My $.02, and worth every penny.

I've got I through 5 and the 4 is the only one i ever carry (sometimes the Izula for fishing). On the other hand i dont regret purchasing the others and i'd never sell out on the others, and infact i want another Izula.

If it is your primary knife for wilderness activities I would go with the 4. If it will be used as back up to a larger primary knife the 3 gets my vote, and I just ordered one for that very purpose. Ultimately go with the one you feel most comfortable using. Good luck man.

I love my 3, I just ordered a 4. The only reason was for serrations and for batoning! The 3 will be a better slicer and is much lighter! There are plenty of videos online of the 3 doing some light batoning, but who dosnt want a bigger blade :)

Really the only thing I could think of the 4 doing better than the 3 is having two blades at your disposal than just one. ;)
