i was just thinking of " things to have in a shop". so i decided to list some i can think of off the top of my head. please add on if you desire.
1. 2x72 grinder/ disc grinder of some sort
2.bench vise
3.files
4.drill press
5.measuring calipers/guages
6.different grit belts-100-2,000-SBUZEK----Wet and dry paper for handrubbing. --JAMIEMACKIE
7.knife scribe
8.ventilation system
9.protective gear
10.wood and metal bandsaw
11.leather/tools
12.general all purpose tools/ screw drivers/hammers etc.

Other items...
Anvil, hammers, tongs, welder, forge(s), post vice, large bench vice, quenching oil, torch, welders jacket, welders gloves, HEARING PROTECTION!, EYE PROTECTION, power hammer or a case of beer with a friend wielding a sledge hammer, garbage bin, large scrap steel bucket, wax for casting, silver and other precious metals, crucible(s), a broom and shovel, solder/flux, wrenches, and vice grips. Insulation if you live in the north.

Edit, coffee too.
