I should've been a cowboy
I should've learned to rope and ride
Wearing my six-shooter riding my pony on a cattle drive
Stealing the young girl's hearts
Just like Gene and Roy
Singing those campfire songs
Oh I should've been a cowboy
About 20-some years ago I was unloading trucks manually at a major Post Office in Connecticut. It was the middle of August and we were unloading literally hundreds of tons of school books destined for the new school year starting in September - box by back-breaking box. It had to be 140 degrees in those trailers and the guy I was working with says "If I had read some goddamned books when I was in school I wouldn't be here today".
