Hey guys,

A few months ago, I was opening a letter with my native, and i set the knife on the table. Someone came too close to the table and knocked it onto the ground with their backpack. As my luck would have it, the knife fell right on it's tip, and now, there is no tip.

I know that in the knife industry, the one thing a knife companie's warranty wont fix is broken tips, because more often than not, it's because you pryed with it, which is knife law no no number 1. What do you guys think (especially those who have dealt with Spydies customer service before)? What are my chances of getting a new blade, or a re finished blade tip? I really love that Native. As do I love my other 3 Spydies :)

i think it costs 20 to regrind the blade..how much broke off? you can try to regrind it yourself too.

The only way to know for sure is to contact Spyderco, but I'd be inclined to think that, unless the damage is really severe, they'd fix the tip for the cost of a sharpening.

Jake,
We can't replace the blade, but as others have said, we may be able to reprofile it. It just depends upon how much broke off. We can't make that determination however, without seeing the knife. Your best bet would be to send it in to W&R and let our crew take a look at it. W&R will contact you and let you know what your options are. When you send it in, please be sure to include all of your contact information (phone, address, e-mail).

Hope this helps.
