So, it surprised me when I was browsing Alpha Knife Supply today, and I saw 14C28 bar stock. I had to do a double take. I don't know how long they have had it. I thought it was just a Kershaw thing.

What kind of a knife would you make with it? Seems like Kershaw uses it for everything.

I use it for folders, kitchen knives, skinners among others.
I've been using it for about 4years,the Kershaw exclusive was only for a couple of years.

I haven't found any negative remarks about 14C28, from online searching. I get the impression it is pretty good. Does anybody know of a down-side, compared to other stainless steels?

I haven't used the 14C28 but I have the 13C26. It is soft to grind , polishes to about the best shine I have ever got a stainless to, takes a scary sharp edge and holds it reasonably well. I have no problem getting it to 60 RC either. Being so soft pre heat treat it is easy to bend when hand sanding so I grind to 80 percent , heat treat , and then finish off grinding. The steel is structurally pure and the mill scale is non existent . The 14C28 should have better edge retention. For the price it's hard to beat.
