I`m thinking about doing a run of my favorite, the Kephart. Price including any handle material I offer will be $140.00 including leather sheath. Any interest, or should I put it on the back burner?

John, if it weren't for the fact that I already have that Hudson Bay on order, I would be on this like stink on a monkey. Sounds like an awesome deal - and a chance for people to venture into new territory in terms of handle materials.

All the best,

- Mike

I will have to review all of the handle materials. Sounds like a good idea to me. I am probably behind on the newest handle options.

if you do it next month i might be in. what ever you do john please dont take it personally. Ive promised my wife three times this year no more knives. hehe. the economy sucks and i really need to hold off for a while. i have 3 knives i really want to buy from you soon though. oh well. anyone know were to sell blood

I know what you mean. Two vacations in the last six weeks have really hit me hard. Great time for the gas price to jump again.

I need to sell some more production knives.

A 4" Kephart with tiger stripe maple handle and the forge marks left on, like Mentor's new knife would really be great.

Temptation, temptation.

BTW John, My hiker plus is terrific. A review with some pics is long overdue. Will have to get one done.

My ears always prick up when I hear someoe say they want to make their favorite. Favorite anything. So I'm interested.

Pic? Specs? I might be tempted....

Can we get a budget model??? I was just thinking to myself that I wanted a JK Kephart.

How about like this for a budget model? Oak (torched or standard) 3 - 1/8" pins (no lanyard), leather sheath (wraparound style, not like shown)for $125.00 I can leave some forge marks on if you want that.

Here are the specs and photo.

Kephart 8 5/8" oal, 4 1/4" blade (bearthedog photo) [/B]

I can make them in any blade length you want, standard is about 4 1/4".

I have handled John's Budget Hunter and there is nothing Budget about it. It was as good as all of his other knives. Same amount of work and heart put into it. A nice convex and good design. It made me want to order a larger version, The Straight Back Kephart.

Here, let me rephrase my last statement and make a reply at the same time...

John, thank you for making the option available of offering a Kephart for those people who are on a budget. I'm definitely onboard w/ getting a Kephart. The quality of my Anniversary Knife has earned you some more of my money, LOL.
