Hey guys,
I dont talk much or post much but I have been making knives for about a year with nothing but files, sand paper, and tried a 1x30. I am wondering if this grinder is probably the best for the money. Its the beaumont variable speed KMG-PL? I am just a hobbyist that would like to go to a few gunshows and thats it. If there are any better ideas go ahead and lemme know. I enjoy some hunting/bushcraft knife making the best. Thanks for your input.

Depending on how much you want to spend there are plenty of options. Lots of good US made grinders. If you just wanted to buy a basic grinder I would recommend you Google Sahtu Designs. They are $900.00 Canadian which works out to $723.83 US at today's exchange rate plus what ever shipping would be. He does ship world wide.

The Beaumont variable speed KMG-PL is a really nice grinder! You must have a good budget because they're not cheep. I'd say, if you got the money, go for it. I don't think you would regret it.

Ok thanks guys. I have a budget of about 2k. Been saving a while was just making sure nothing was better and it is just a hobby but I enjoy it a lot and 3 gun shows a year would be to just get rid of the ones I make. I don't really wanna try orders because it takes away from me making things I like.

If you have the budget I would go with an esteem over a kmg. KMG is awesome, but in my opinion direct drive blows it out of the water. Requires less power, is less noisy, as well as less vibration.

I was able to stall a kmg with a 1hp motor due to the belt and pulley system using anything above 1/8" stock, with a direct drive I have broken belts before stalling the motor.

Hey guys thanks for your input. These esteem grinders, i have been able to find the grinders online but I dont know where I would order these at..... Do any of you have a contact or something for me?

Thank you Tin Man and Email sent. I am hoping to hear from him soon!! I am excited to give him a shot possibly.
