I like a larger folder. I have a BM Skirmish with S30V blade (heavy), and a Spyderco Resilience (very light).
Love the flickability of the Spyderco. The BM Skirmish will flick, but not nearly as easily as the Spyderco. The Spyderco fits me so well that I EDC it most days.

I am eyeballing the Spyderco Military with the S30V blade. The BM S30V has not impressed me. It dulls fast, and is a bitch sharpen.

Also being eyed is the ZT200. I have read some good things about the ZT200, but wonder about the 154CM blade steel.

How does S30V compare vs 154CM? Which will hold a better edge? I have read how the ZT200 is a HD knife, good.

Is the Military built any stronger than the Resilience?

I know the ZT200 is heavy (not good), and the Military is very light (very good).

Any help on the two knives is welcome.

I am carrying the ZT 200 and I find no issues with the 154CM steel. I did reprofile the edge to 40 degrees and polished it, so it cuts really well now.

I have a 0200 and 3 Millies. 2 entirely different knives made for different uses. The Millie is light @ 4 oz. and a great slicer. The 0200 is over built IMO. Everything about

it is HD....7.7 ozs. I like the Spydie s30v better than the ZT 154.....but I really haven't had the 0200 long enough to be a good judge of the ZT steel.

When I carry a Millie I hardly notice it's in my pocket.....the 0200 is a little heavy but I've gotten used to the weight.

You've mentioned a few knives that I own and are very fond of, its true that the ZT0200 and the Spyderco are very different types of knives....both very good in their own way but who are we kidding? You know that you'll end up buying both in time anyway so just pick the one you want first. :D

Have you tried to sharpen the Skirmish on the Spyderco Sharpmaker with the corners facing in? It makes sharpening the recurve blade very easy....so easy that even I can do it with no problems. Love the BM 630BK1, I used it as an EDC for several years.

I LOVE that knife, so did my son, I told him that it was "his" once he graduated from college....I think just to get my knife he did just that and just graduated with his 4 year degree a few weeks ago and is now off to Grad school....so be careful what you promise. <grin>

Best of luck with your choice...you'll love either for different reasons.

I have found that anything 6oz and under is virtually unnoticeable to carry.
