Thinking about a Semi-Auto Shotgun, any reccomendations?

The Mossberg 930 impressed me, price is good and it functioned with everything I ran through it except for the Win AA Featherlites, which was no surprise.
Adjustable sights & extended mag are installed at the factory.

If you have no long guns at all, then I'd suggest getting an AR-15 in whatever configuration moves you.

And buy plenty of full-capacity magazines for it. (20 and 30 round)

Given the current political climate and the dark cloud of impending democrat doom, buy an AR-15 now before the election. If you wait until after tha election and the Dems get a super-majority in the Senate, a higher one in the House and O-Bamma wins, everyone else that waited too long will find that everything is sold out and that when they restock prices are much higher than they were today as I type this.

'cuz if obama wins everyone is gonna feak and think gun bans/etc are coming and will buy every assault rifle they can get there hands on thus driving up the prices and lowering the availablity of them.

are bans/restrictions coming? i dont know, they might be, maybe not though, we'll just have to wait & see.

i know i wont vote for obama, shoot i might just skip it, the fact that obama/mcain are the very best candidates we can come up with to be prez' of this great country is, at least to me,"disturbing".

and no i dont think the last 8 yrs have been "heavan", an endless probably unwinnable war(or 2), $4 a gallon gas (if ya are lucky), the economy in turmoil, almost makes me long for bill clinton lol, & imho bush is probably the very worst prez' ever in US history (and i voted for him 3 times, prez 2 times & TX guv once) but this isnt the right forum for all that, sorry for my rant.

Obama is virulently anti-gun. His voting record proves it. His idea of "reasonable gun control" involves banning all handguns. If the dems win the Congress, as currently expected, and he wins the Presidency, there WILL be Draconian laws proposed and some will be signed.

If he wins, there will be a rush to buy such guns and magazines before he takes office, including most of the shotguns mentioned in thie thread. This will result in higher prices and poor availability. Avoid the rush, BUY NOW.

I'm not shooting as much anymore either, but for the last few years I was a ubiquitous "feature" at most USPSA pistol, 3-gun, and multi-gun matches, plus a lot of others (NRA Action Pistol, IDPA, steel challenge). I used to be the statsmeister at AtlantaCC, and I'm still the VP and statsmeister for WVPPS (Terre Haute). I shoot at Terre Haute, Wildcat, South Central, Silver Creek, etc. I'm also the guy who is most likely to be in charge of scores at any big matches in Indiana or northern Kentucky, so if you've shot an Indiana or Kentucky sectional, or any of the recent Area 5 matches hosted here, I was there.
