Thinking about buying an Ash.

I've been learning more about Busse over the last few days and have been reading this forum and I think I'm ready to buy an Ash. I'm not sure what finish and handle to get though. Any suggestions?
 
I went for the Desert Olive and Tan Mags. Love it! Better hurry up and place your order.

Hey Evan, you are making a wise decision--you will not be sorry.
As far as color combos, I would recommend browsing through the Nothing But Pics
thread at the top of the forum page. You will see pages of knives, with most every color combination available. It's nice to see the combos on different blades, some new, some beaten up. Decide what you like best and go for it!

.....or you could always take the patented Lunde approach and buy one of each.:eek::D
 
Definitely DO NOT miss out on ordering one. It might be my favorite all around knife and I own a bunch of Busses. I'm near Portland, Oregon so if you were close I would be glad to meet you to let you get your hands on one.
 
Oh Boy -- the only right answer is YES - get one... or two. the recommendations will be all over the board.

There are ton of photos of most (not all) of the combinations that have come out. That will definitely help give you a better idea of what to get. Look through all the postings.

My opinion, you can't go wrong -- but i'd say get a Double Cut blade finish with the mag black canvas... I'm beyond happy that i got this combo.
 
All of these ASH pictures made me break down and order one just now. Special thanks to all the forum users who help me spending my money! I was perfectly happy with my smaller knives, but no, I had to keep looking at the big brothers and wanting one. Ordered an urban gray and black G10, figured someday I will give it the scotch bright treatment after the coating starts to show some wear.

Put the accounting degree to use with some creative financing...combo birthday present, fathers day present and used the cash rebate I have built up from credit card points to swing the deal with the director of finance and budget. When the kids ask what they can get me for birthday present I will finally have an answer: chuddy bear sheath. I love it when a plan come together.

I'm having a very hard time making this decision. The pics on the Busse site are confusing so its tough figuring out the right combo.

If you intend to use it get DC and whatever handle color scheme you like.( I personally like mags.)

I can only say that the right colour combo is the one you decide to get. :)

Jeepnut took this photo of the OD and Black Mags.... the blade looks more green in daylight though.

If you can drop the extra money on it the Double Cut is a great choice. It wears the best and a lot of people wish they had gotten it or could get another in DC (bead blasted) finish.

Mag's are meatier, thicker at the palm swell. You might be able to get away with standards on the combat grade due to the blade thickness, but I suggest mags, and if they're too big sand them down a little to fit, it won't take much.
 

I went with mags and they are nice - although with the thickness of the blade perhaps not necessary. I will know more when my sage/black canvas arrives :)

Here is the first one I got - black w/tan canvas MAGS :D:D:D

But yes - get one now! Excellent Blade at a quite reasonable price - really!

I went with the Black/Black & Tan G10 mags and I love it. If I did another it would be the same with a Double Cut blade.
