Thinking about buying Busse Team Gemini Light Brigade

Yea, they are there, the pulldown menu labeled "choose a handle option" has three different micartas offered, Black Canvas, Tan Canvas and Black Paper. There are a lot more G10 options though, wow! You do have to request smoothed handle scales though.

His next logical question will be "but how do I do that?". Well, how does he do that? I'm sure it would be helpful to him and others.

Best way I know to request that which isn't shown as an option for selection on the website is to speak to them directly via phone to ask if it is possible and it is always a pleasure speaking to Lexi or Pokey.

I would much rather have an all around great knife than a strictly one purpose knife. Is there a big difference between the TG and the TGLB besides the weight and concave/vex shaped blade?

The BladeShow 2014 TG's also have satin finish.

Back quickly to your first post and the sheath question, I use a kydex sheath made by "azwelke" here on the forums. He offers it set up for the ESEE 5/6 molle back and pouch so it would look similar to Cricket Dave's set up. Here's 2 pics of my one and only TGLB where you can see the texture on the black canvas. This was my first direct order from Busse. At the time, I never held a TGLB and I didn't really know about them offering smoothed handles. Still never held one that was smoothed out. I figure I can always sand this down if I don't like it anymore. What I can't do is put the texture back.

The TGLB can definitely take a beating. They're made for hard use, will take everything you give them and be left asking for more. It's a great all around knife that feels wonderful in the hand.

Why is that?

I like the feel better. Dave Brown let me see the difference between the two, and after a customer had both kind sent to me, and I keep getting to see the difference, I like the weight difference of the TG.

Thanks. Guess people like the product but not the price?
As a serious response no not out of business they just sell out fast. Keep an eye on the forum and you get faster notice of what they are selling, and sign up for the newsletter.

Ok, thanks. But why not just say "sold out" rather than " no longer available"? "No longer available" suggest that item will not be made again.

Just to make sure if I may, so the Bladeshow 14 TG is NOT a LB ?
I just picked up a Satin one with Tigerhide, and cant imagine feel/balance being any better. Love it.

Because they may not be made again. Only as a show special or special run of them, they won't be sold on the website as a regular item any more.

About the only thing you need to be concerned about is big increases in value.

Over the years, many Bussey designs go up in value.

Buses does not cover this increase.

I've used knives that originally sold for $250.

Where the current value for that old model was closet to $1000.

If you damage the knife beyond repair, they will likely give you shop credit for the original purchase price.

They likely won't have an old blank lying arround. If they dont, you get shop credit.

Buy the knife. Use the knife, love the knife.

If you don't like it, sell it.

They do hold their value extremely well.

I've had some go up in value, even after use.

But I don't plan on it. I just use them, and move them on, when I need funds to buy the newest and bestest design.

For sure, I've sold a few I should have held on to!
