Thinking about getting a gray para2

Alright, so I have enough money saved to get the cts-20cp para2 in gray. I understand that it will cost me ~220 with shipping. I do not own a paramilitary2, and am wondering if you guys can help me justify getting this sprint run version, or save the money in order to get the s30v. I have plenty of knives in s30v and I am wondering if it is worth the extra money to get the sprint Para2. I appreciate any input. One more thing, this will be a user, I want to see if something can alternate with my Gayle Bradley, because right now, 10 out of 10 times, my GB goes to work with me.

Easily one of the most impressive Spydies I've owned in quite awhile! It's worth the price of admission in my opinion.

I agree completly! Best Spyderco I have owned. Blade is centered and the action was smooth as butter right out of the box. Great steel as well. You can't go wrong with this one and if you don't like it, you can easily find a buyer. Go for it!

I'm very happy with the Para 2. I like the compression lock. I have two of these sent out right now getting some custom carbon fiber put on them.

Get the para 2..... I have some pretty cool knives and have held some pretty cool (and expensive) knives, but I love the way the para 2 feels the most. Funny thing is when I first got it I didn't like it because it was so light, I thought it felt cheap and easy to break. Now I can't stop playing with it and it's my main EDC. Just about the perfect size and blade shape for a pocket knife.

What is the meaning of "fairly priced"? ;)

If you really want it, it's a fabulous blade in a great chassis and worth paying whatever it takes.

If you don't, Spyderco really does a great job with S30V. S30V is the Rodney Dangerfield of steels today - it just doesn't get any respect. It's a good value.

Well, sounds like if is very well received, I am on the hunt for a fairly priced one now :)

Oh yeh, it's worth it.

Love your pictures man. So many cool looking plants and flowers around you. :D

I agree and I chuckled a little bit on the Rd analogy. So true.

Do it! Great steel! I wasn't really fond of the Grey G10, but the CTS-20CP is a winner. I really hope they use it on some other folders.

I have a grey one. Love it. Is it that much better than the standard S30V version in black? Probably not for most folks. I like trying different steels and prefer colors other than black, so it's worth the price difference for me.

The para 2 quickly moved to the absolute top of my favorite list. I currently own the s30v which is my user and I have a gray CTS-20cp which is a safe queen. I am eventually going to force myself to make the gray one a user too, but that probably won't happen til I track down a s90v cf version. Will you really be able to detect a difference in the 2 while slicing through cardboard boxes or cutting zip ties? Probably not. Will the CTS/gray handles make you drool over it? Probably. PS watch out. The para 2 can be really addicting.

Thank you for all the recommendations, I got one for 180 and it already came in today. It is a thing of beauty. The blade is perfectly centered and already I can tell I love the design of this knife. I tested it on a cardboard box that my TV came in. This knife is going to be a lot of fun.

I sold mine because I wasn't a big fan of the color, but I wouldn't have sold it if I didn't already own an S90V.

Am I a Para 2 fan? Well, let's see: I own 2 S90V models, two regualr black S30V's and a digicam/black one. I bought a gray one and I'm on the preorder list for the blue M390 sprint. If the gray one had been darker I would have kept it too.

I didn't care much for the gray color either, but I'm hanging on to it. I was shocked at how smooth the compression lock was on this one. My S90V version is still very sticky and murder on my thumb. Funny thing is I like that better. Gives me the impression it won't unlock at the wrong time. ;)
