Thinking about going all Spyderco, only folders..

I love Spydercos but brand worship is something I try to avoid. Seriously when it comes to modern folders they offer most of my favorites and I'd go as far as to say they are my favorite production knife company when it comes to folders. But no way I'd shun any non Spyderco knives.

The majority of my collection is Spyderco and they are probably the brand I purchase most. That said, I don't think I would ever go all one brand. There are too many different types/brands/mechanisms to try.

I'm only talking about folders, not fixed blades or tradionals....I like Buck, and have a couple of their fixed blades and a couple stockman, also two 110s from "back in the day"..But I'm thinking about my EDCs being straight Spyderco..

I think Kershaw is also top of the line..But,, my OD1s have the flipper system which I like....My Blur and Needs Work both have the assisted opening thumb stud only....These are all excellant knives but have differant deployment systems and I'm thinking one deployment system might be the best for a EDC...

I also thought about doing this years ago. Then I realized tht deployment methods aside, there are so many really worthy designs out there I really wouldn't be doing myself any favors sticking to a single brand. Aside from this, there are a lot of things about other knives that really make me appreciate my Spyderco knives even more than I normally would.

I LOVE Spyderco. But I could NEVER go all Spydies. I don't love every design. I have a few that I really love, and they're some of my all time favorites, but there are plenty that I'll never own. I would think most people are the same way. Not every knife clicks with every person. I'm starting to really like Emerson, and there are a few BMs that I like, I love the Izula, the USMC Ka-Bar, a grail of mine is the Umnum, and so on and so forth. I think going all Spyderco could work for some, but how anybody who's truly a knife nut could stay that loyal long term is beyond me.

Lol, I made that decision over 10 years ago. Never looked back. For folders, spyderco has been offering plenty of variety in design, locks and materials to keep me interested 100%. Spyderco doesn't do much in the area of multitools and neck knives these days, so I have a couple of SAKs and Krein neckers.
