thinking about making a nice knife

Ive seen d2 for sale is that close to s30v. Or where can you get benchmades h2o steel or spydercos h1

Read the stickies..... figure out what you want the knife to do and then what you can afford and what you can work. You're just starting out learning about knives.... more than likely your nice knife won't be the first or even fifth you make.

Find out what the compositions of those steels are then match them up, they're not some super duper unobtanium steel.

What benchmade is calling h20 is actually known as X15TN. I have seen it referred to as a 420 mod. I have info on the chemical composition of both if it helps. I can not find anything as far as a comparison of another steel to H1 however.
