Thinking About Offering......

I am digging this, and it's at a price point that I would pick one up (the price of most customs scares me away from buying & using them).
I am thinking a 2.5-3 inch blade, 4 inch handle might be a tiny bit to long, 3.5 sounds about right.

Would you be able to offer a basic pouch style leather sheath as an add on and I wonder for how much? Something that is just a basic one with a belt loop.

Should I increase the handle from 3 1/2" to 4"? it might be more comfortable, but may be too big for EDC. Thoughts?

Leather pouch sheath would add $15 to the cost. I`m thinking giving the buyer a choice of handle lengths?

$15 would not be bad at all.

it seems to me that by offering more and more changes it will increase your cost & time, cutting out different size blanks, figuring out which person ordered what and changing handle material etc. I'd keep it as simple as possible and only offer a minimal amount of options:
Sheath
Handle material
Liners

But then again, i've never made a knife and have no idea what it takes to do each thing (time + materials), so take that with a grain of salt ;)

Personally I think $15 for a leather pouch sheath is a bit too cheap. I would have thought that 3.5 inches of handle would be fine, although you could always consider offering a longer handle at additional cost (choice means work for you).

You might look at making it to a profile that JRE has a sheath for already. That way, hopefully, you could get them from JRE and still pass them along at a reasonable price. I know right now I have a knife from Andy Roy that lives in the JRE sheath that I got with a Dan Koster knife. Never really took to Dan's (although I still have it) and really liked Andy's - so, a little sheath swap and away we go!

I`m going to stick with the 3 1/2" handle for the EDC model, but offer, at no extra charge, a 4" handle for the Hunter model. Sound like a plan?

John, I am getting ready to place order for EO1 Hunter, # 1, but can't find handle options on your web site, please direct me!

Ok, Got it! I am Offically ordering a EO1 Hunter, with optional Olivewood Handle! What is the final cost?

EO1 Hunter - $100
Olivewood - $15
Shipping - $8 (no shipping in this case, I would bring it to work)
Total - $115

Do you have an example photo of what the sheath would look like?
Will it have a belt loop? or is it a pocket sheath?

I`ll have an example of each model knife (EO1 EDC, and EO1 Hunter) and sheath next weekend. Plan is for a pocket sheath, but I will be figuring how to add a loop.

Cool, a belt loop or clip on the back would be really nice (even if you had to charge a couple bucks more.
Looking forward to seeing what they look like!

Heat treating an EDC and Hunter blank today, handle material will be in this week.

Heat treated and ground blanks. EDC on top, Hunter on bottom. Just waiting on handle material to be delivered.

Me like very much also ~~ but I would like a 4" Handle & 3" Blade as I just picked up my JK #1 = that I got from you and
it fits like a glove ( have gutted 3 Deer & Skinned them with that Knife ~~ and it is perfect and feels great in the hand.!
Looks new as I keep it very - very clean & take very good care of it.!**
Is it going to be anything close to the looks of that one or more of a Belly to it.! I like the Pic's but really can't tell about
the Belly of the Blade compared to the one I have.!
Can't wait to see the two of them in a finished state and ready to be shipped.+
