Hello everyone :)

Slowly I thinking on Surface grinder but there is so many options, and maybe You guys can help me with this.

I have about 3-4 options.

1. Tormach Surface Grinder - Final price for me with shipping and VAT + Customs about 5.000$
2. Warco Surface Grinder - With shipping from UK - about 3.100$ with shipping
3. JOTES SPC-20C or D - Polish made Surface grinder USED, made in 1970-1990. - cost about = 2.000-3.000$ with transport ( this guy weight about 1.6t )

What grinder will be the best option?
I don't want to use belt conversion.

If the Jotes machines are nearby you could maybe get demonstration of them working on a piece of stock. The price would be better if you can operate the machines well enough. They look to be good equipment but have an experienced machinist look at them for you.

Those all look like great machines, I recently got a brown and sharp no.2 1960 ish and it is more than enough for knife making and the machines your looking at are 10x better then the grinder I have. If you know a machinist or tool maker get his advise.

I have never owned one but have always thought what if I had somehow was able in the past to get one? I think it could have been a good thing but if it was one of the regular sized ones it would not be in my basement shop now. Frank

I personally would go with this option if I lived where you do. 3. JOTES SPC-20C it looks to be a very well built machine with some nice features. Make sure the electromagnetic chuck is in good working condition as these can cost as much as the machine cost to replace. The bigger one is also very nice too. Are you only going to be doing knife work on them or larger stuff. If your going to be doing larger stuff a hydraulic table is very nice to have. I take it there are not many that come up for sale near you correct.
