Thinking about trying a Mora

Toolbox, tackle bag, picnic pack, truck. Plus a Mora filet too, so a total of five here. And another like for the plastic sheaths, they work great.

Am I on the right track or do you guys have some others I should look at?
That friend... is a loaded question for sure 😉

Mora's are amazing knives for the price. They make awesome gifts for the homeboys and family too. I was camping a few weeks ago and brought a chunk of basswood to do a carving. I used my SAK and my Bugout and they worked pretty good but then I pulled my stainless Mora out of the bag that's always on my motorcycle. This Mora was the first scandi ground knife I'd sharpened on my KME and only like the second or third knife total on the KME. I couldn't quite match the factory angle but I sharpened it as low as the KME will go, I believe 15 degrees per side, and put a "microbevel" on it. I put microbevel in quotes because it's a very big microbevel. I took that Mora to the basswood and it glided through it like nothing I've ever experienced before. It's truly insane how awesome it is at whittling and the cuts are so smooth it looks like the wood is almost sanded or burnished under each cut.

I can't wait until mora starts doing 14c28n on all their base models... that will be like nirvana imho

the carbon steel mora uses is already amazing, could only be improved if they maybe went to 80crv2 like the skraama lineup

Are mora flex knives still a thing? A flat grind version sounds great to add to my collection.

I have really taken a shine to the Robust model. A lil thicker, a lil tougher, and an amazing deal. Use it, sharpen it, beat it to death, buy a new one.

I probably have 6 or so stashed places I have forgotten about.

A survival cashe isn't really valid until you can't remember exactly where TF it is ! ;)

They're not for survival. 😉 It's in some random drawer in my kitchen, a shelf in my garage...probably, maybe somewhere under the seat of my truck, in a box under the counter at work, etc.

They are a knife I accidentally run across when I am doing some sort of chore where I might want to perform some sort of cutting job but don't want to bugger my good knife.

Go-Bag is stocked and in a known spot 😉
