Thinking of a Strider Pt

Based on all the positive reviews that I have read, I am thinking of getting a strider pt.

However, I have some quick questions.

1. Anyone have any first hand experience on which version of the PT is better - the concealed carry or regular? I understand that the CC version is rounder which can be more comfortable - but all my folders have a clip which I have grown to like.

2. Old posts show that Striders can be a hit or miss on the lockups etc. How are they today?

Thanks in advance for your help!

i don't have one now, but i liked carring it! mine was almost perfect with lock-up. ihave never handled the concealed carry model.:)

I have a regular pt, not the cc. The knife itself is very well built. I chose regular over cc because I wanted a thicker framelock, and I wanted a pocket clip. My only complaint about the knife however, is the pocket clip. It rides so high in the pocket, especially when wearing shorts, that anyone next to me could easily pull this $300 knife out of my pocket. So I usually don't use the clip. Knowing this now, I still would have got this version over the cc. A thinner slab of titanium on a strider almost defeats the purpose of why I bought one in the first place, at least in my opinion.

I have the reg PT with clip, knowing what I know now I should have got the cc version. Because I don't use the clip on mine, it always rides in my pocket and not clipped. I think you will be happy with the one you buy no matter which one you pick. I have never had any lock up issues with my PT or my SNG. I know if I do I can just send it in for repairs.

I am going to get the CC version eventually, the SNG CC and SMF CC are higher priorities. I had the regular version, and it is a little too small for clipping in the pocket. It walked a couple times on me.

I had the CC and carried it in a Lifter Leather belt sheath. Nice carry and great ergo's. Didn't like iffy lock up and sold it.

thanks everyone for their replies.

anyone else have any first hand experiences on how useful the clip is?

I own a PT CC and love it. It feels great in the pocket and I barely even notice it's there. I have juggled the thought in my head to send it to STR to have a low riding clip made for it, but when it's at the bottom of my pocket it just feels right. It's definitely a conundrum for me. Overall the PT CC is a fantastic little big knife and feels great in the hand.

I have the clip version. It is well built with good ergonomics. It is really small, though, and I might not hold on to it. $300 is a lot of money for a knife that small. If there is any way for you to hold one in person before pulling the trigger, I would encourage you to do so.

I prefer the clip version as it acts as a lock bar stabilizer and adds to the grip when opening.

Had both , still have the CC , found that for me carrying it via the clip didnt work for me , for some reason the darn thing always came out when I sat down. I like the way the CC feels in the hand during use. This is a small knife that cuts big , someone obviously forgot to clue the little fella in that small knives aren't supposed to cut like this :)

To me , great value for the $$ in either PT model , but I give the nod to the PT CC , and the one I have has been carried & used in a mission wallet for the past 2 years.

PT's a little small and I use mine as a money clip same as a small Sebenza.

I don't have a pt, but I have 2 sng's. One is the CC, and while it looks nice it has next to no grip on it. I wouldn't buy one again with that handle.
