Thinking of buying this for EDC

I guess you like spear-point larger folders?

I was going to suggest the Benchmade mini-dejavoo, but it lacks the spear-point and is more expensive if you intend to wait for the ESEE folder (there was an ESEE-3/F planned sooner, but it may have just fallen through...).
I bought the mini-dejavoo after watching Bluntruth4u's videos - http://www.youtube.com/user/BLUNTRUTH4U#p/u - he has some other recommendations on there that you might already have or would care to check out.

Cold Steel has a lot of strong and less expensive offerings in the style you seem to prefer...

watched the vids thats a tough knife :)

the mini onslaught looks nice also a LUM design

why is this? I work in one of the worst precincts in Brooklyn and its refreshing to live in a nice area on the water on Long Island where i dont even really need to lock my doors. The need to carry a gun in my neighborhood is borderline silly. I have had the same neighbors since i was born, lived there my entire life, and there has NEVER been a burglary murder or even violent crime other than the occasional kids messing around. My town is 1 square mile and my father was the fire chief and mailman..The lady at the bank in the morning works at the supermarket in the afternoon. I like to carry a knife since my father instilled it in my as a child taking me to gun and knife shows. I do hunt and i also use Bows not guns to hunt. I have no problems with carrying i just choose not to unless im going towards the city limits.I like guns i own 2 glocks a sig sauer several shotguns and a rifle or 2.. I enjoy my freedom by not living in fear and honestly i feel drawing a gun in a situation where my family might be involed could bring more collateral dmg than just being compliant

back on topic i am pretty sure i have it narrowed down to 2cheaper knives (that way i can just EDC and not worry about it being too nice to beat on)

a Spyderco Centofante 3

And a CRKT M21-02 Aluminum plain edge

both have excellent reviews and i watched video reviews as well i figure i will beat on them and wait for the new ESEE knives to come out for an expensive folder..

I just bought the Centofante 3 as my new edc about a month ago, I have to say that it is really good for light use EDC purpose. Before you buy it, I think there's one thing you should knwo that the Centofante 3 has a pretty thin blade, it's very good for slicing and cutting but probably not so good for heavy dute usage. The handel is not G10 but it has a NICE looking spyderco inlay which makes it looks very handsome. The only complaint is: the whole knife is pinned together so you can't adjust it when it's loose.

If you are really serious of buying this knife, I have one more tip for you, switch the pocket clip to tip-up carry, because in the tip-down position, the jimping is right in the way when you want to reach inside the pocket for something else, and it's pretty sharp :D

watched the vids thats a tough knife :)
He's got a review for the Centofante3 too, uses it the same way as the benchmade - http://www.youtube.com/user/BLUNTRUTH4U#p/u/38/6h45HTH4lck
He also mentions (in the comments) that if it gets loose, light tapping on the pivot-pin will tighten it back up just fine.

I don't own either of the knives you've focused on, and it sounds like you've got a lot of folders... Are you savy enough to just buy both and sell whichever you don't prefer? Do you think the Centofante3 might be too similar design to your Delica or Griptilian? Do you think the CRKT could better handle a "beating" (and what do you mean by "beating")? It seems like more of a beater than the light & slender Spyderco, but...

yeah i buy and sell knives all the time actually im about to try and sell my composite shallot with ZDP-189 only 1600 ever made PM if interested

its a tough choice Nutnfancy gives both the M21-02 and the centofante 3 great reviews as do many others ill probably buy both and alternate still cheaper than 1 $150+ knife besides im gonna be buying an ESEE and an Izula folder when they come out so theres a few hundred gone

ok so i am totally getting one of these just need to decide between black and satin... i think satin since every black knife i own looks like crap after awhile

well im just going to comment on his original plan. i think the horseman is a great edc blade. a little big, but its going to be built bulletproof and definetly strong enough to handle any of your tasks. plus the wave feature on the knife is crazy fun =). i use to have the cqc-8, but gave it to a friend who deployed overseas. man i loved that blade

i will most likely get a horseman sometime this year but im totally psyched about this rsk_mk1 and yes getting the mini in satin :) can't wait till i get it

The Centofante 3 is lovely, practical, elegant.

In the same modern elegant yet affordable niche, also check the Boker Plus Exskelibur 1:

I think it's actually stone-washed, not satin, but still better than black imho. It resembles my BM 585 mini barrage (As/O, satin blade 154CM). I hope you like how it handles!

probably getting wilkins grips for it

it will look similar to this but all black handle with stonewash blade
