HI there.

i have an old Morseth from my dad and i am thinking of selling
it to finance a Fallkniven S2.

i am not sure of a fair price to ask for it. I have seen similar knives on ebay go for between 500 usd and 800 usd.

links to pics above.

any one have an idea?

Here are pics.

Thank you that is why I just purchased a gold membership this morning. The PayPal went through but
I haven't got an email from blade forums yet..... ????

I couldn't figure out how to change my membership.

There you go! Now you're in business, brother!

I wouldn't sell the Morseth.

It's a way better and neater knife than the one you're planning to replace it with! I'd carry it proudly ad use it.

That old knife is way cooler than a boring Fallkniven. I wouldn't sell it for that reason alone. Plus it belonged to your dad. You would regret selling it.

I have 4 Fallknivens including an S1 but I don't know what an S2 is.
Also how old is that Morseth? Is it an AGR one? Or earlier? In which case yes I guess it
could be quite valuable.

I remember your thread from awhile ago where most of the folks told you to sell the knife, and now everybody's telling you to keep the knife.

I say that selling it seems to be your best option, since it's worth a lot more in its current condition rather than after being used, the Falkniven will probably be more useful for you and you won't feel as bad putting it through its paces.

As for value, I have no clue, sorry.

Years ago I bought a few of the newer Morseths, and watched the older ones in online auctions and such. I am still not a Morseth expert but I would guess that yours is a more recent model made by Steve Morseth, still before A.G. Russell took over. It is still collectible and if they are like they used to be it is worth a lot, maybe ballpark of $500, but it would take some research of perhaps online auctions to find out how much. It is a neat knife with an interesting history. If it was mine I would keep it as a family keepsake, but if you really need the cash then sell it to a collector, buy the knife you want to use, and use the rest of the money to help with your expenses.

Keep the Morseth and just be patient and save up for the Fallkniven S2. One day you might regret getting rid of the Morseth and it will be difficult/costly to replace.
