this is my first thread posting. thanks for taking the time to read it. ok time to get down to brass tacks.

im thinking of updating my edc. i'm currently carrying a camillus lev-r-lok.
and i'm looking real close at three . 1) a camillus cuda edc with a 4 inch blade made of aus-8 steel with g-10 handle. 2) a spyderco endura 4 ss with a 3 7/8inch blade made of vg-10 steel and a ss handle. and 3) a benchmade nitrous stryker with a 3.7 inch blade made of d2 tool steel with a g-10 handle. also
iam open to any suggestions of other knives. but would like your thoughts on the three above. mainly pros and cons your likes and dislikes and any other information you'd like to share. thanks again

Welcome to BF!
I own a Nitrous Stryker and around 10 Enduras. Never owned a Camillus though.

-Spyderco Endura is a solid knife. Easy to sharpen, inexpensive, tough folder, comfy handle/grip, steel hard to chip, it rolls instead. In general a very well respected knife, rightfully so.

-Benchamde Nitrous Stryker also a great knife. Solidly built, great steel, excellent design. My ONLY gripe about it is the handle has a couple sharp edges that when you grip it tightly, it can create some discomfort.

i have no experience with it, but ive heard many great things about the benchmade 710, and i believe it is roughly the same size as the other knives you mentioned

I whole heartedly endorse the 710 choice. Mine, sadly, has had to share EDC chores with a 755 over the last month or two, however. The 710 is more utilitarian.

Of the knives above I'd say endura, knife suggestions ZT 0350

+3 on 710

Benchmade 710 D2 McHenry Williams = (also available in M390... soon)

Spyderco Endure 4 G-10 (FFG) = (if you can find one)

I have and love 'em both!

Also, check out he new Zero Tolerance ZT0350CB (composite blade). It looks very tempting...

I would say the Endura, check out the FFG Enduras I have been EDCing a green one for the past week now and it really has grown on me and I have really come to like it a lot.

I have both and love 'em too. You have good taste! "

I also have both, best examples of the 2 locking mechanisms in my opinion. the endura 4 is on your short list, and i think the FFG would be the way to go. although ss is heavy and thin in your palm when using a lot of force to cut something. VG-10 takes an edge easy on a croc stick or a sharp maker.

the 710 opens like it's on rails and locks up like a bank vault. lot of cutting edge in a small package. It is also the most fun to play with. you can pick one up on the forums for under $125 and if you didnt like it, im sure you would have no problem selling or trading it quickly. D2 has been great. a little more work to sharpen on the sharp maker, though it holds a hair popping edge a little longer, especially with touch ups.

the nitrous assisted stryker does not feel as solid as the standard 910 to me, and i prefer the flat G-10 scales and thumb disk. (also one of the only tip down designs i prefer, it is very quick to deploy if you find the thumb disk in your pocket first, then pull and flick)

my cuda is a coffee table knife, fun to leave out and play with, but never sees pocket time. Also hard to open if there is oil or any thing on your fingers, like when cooking, or slime from fish. AUS-8 is dependable.

thanks everyone that replyed so far.
of the three the camillus and the spyderco
are more in my price range but ive heard
benchmade makes a damn great knife but you
know the saying : take everything you hear with a grain of salt.
ive also been eyeing the zt300 but right now thats too rich for my
blood.but now it seems ive narrowed it down a little between the
spyderco and the benchmade with benchmade in the lead by a hair:cool:

I like the BM 710D2 as well but if your on a budget and you are good with AO performance and a no nonsense hard working folder..

4 3/8 closed with a 3 1/4 inch cutting edge blade. The MY TIGHE can be had for around 45.-50.USD

And Welcome to your new home.

Best,
Anthony

The Endura is a fantastic knife, I have three of them.

However, I have to say that I prefer the FRN handles to Stainless, the SS handles are slippery, and eventually you get tired of it.

You can probably still track down a G-10 E-4 if you want something a little more classy.

Of course if you can't find one of those the Military is always a great choice.
Also the ZT0200.
While not my style the BM710 is technically a very good knife. Personally I'm looking forward to getting my hands on a 741 (onslaught).

IMHO the 741 BM Onslaught :barf: isn't in the same league as the BM710 D2 - one of the flagship models that defines a Benchmade. YMMV :)
