thinking of updating my edc? any suggestions

You should get the mighty Benchmade Nitrous Stryker. I´ve got two of them!

Is the Stryke like the Barrage Big old hollow handled chitzy feeling knife? It seem flatter, is that G-10? My bad, I just looked it up and it is G-10. How are the handle ergos?

I'd go for a Spydie Stretch. Some specs:

-FRN handle (blue or black) I like this for the grip comfort, though it isn't pretty.
-4 way clip I found that the clip was less comfortable in some positions.
-3mm thick blade stock; distal taper; flat grind; 3.5in blade. (Slices and pierces very well. Easily beats out an Endura and even a thinner Delica. )
-ZDP189 or VG10 (Didn't have much time with ZDP, but VG10 is one of my fave steels. Beats S30V for me. ZDP is said to get harder and take a more acute edge.)

Overall it's a great knife. Not overbuilt but easily capable of taking extended use.

my $0.02....

i'd consider a pliers based multitool instead of a single blade folder.

my leatherman wave has been my constant companion for over a decade now. the extra tools available mean it can deal with a much broader range of contingency situations than a single blade folder.

they're also very sheeple friendly and cops (in Australia at least) tend not to worry too much about them.

i keep a leatherman in my truck all the time so its a moot point.
the bm 913d2 keeps looking better every day

im thinking of updating my edc. i'm currently carrying a camillus lev-r-lok.
and i'm looking real close at three . 1) a camillus cuda edc with a 4 inch blade made of aus-8 steel with g-10 handle. 2) a spyderco endura 4 ss with a 3 7/8inch blade made of vg-10 steel and a ss handle. and 3) a benchmade nitrous stryker with a 3.7 inch blade made of d2 tool steel with a g-10 handle.

out of your list i would choose Endura for one reason: I would take VG10 over AUS8 or D2. Great steel: easy to sharpen, takes very keen edge and have good edge retention and corrosion resistance. I own Endura and like ergos, but I would advice you against SS Endura. I stopped carrying SS handle knives after my knife with SS handle slide out of my hand while I was cutting some branches, which retained some dew and hands got wet. Also Endura with FRN handle available in FFG, which make it excellent slicer. And you can get this knife under $60

And plenty of colors of scales if it's your thing. I was planning to get a blue FFG endura too but wound up getting a second chinook. :D

yeah i was rethinking the ss handle if i do get the spyderco. but the bm 913d2 is looking good .

upchuck, those are some really nice knives you got . looks like you got a crkt hissatsu folder i got the fixed blade hissatsu. and i like that zt as well! thanks for sharing

FRC.

Check Kershaw ZT 0350ST. 10% smaller which makes it a more convenient knife. Lists for about $150. but can be bought for about $100.

Thanks frc505. I thought there was a Cuda EDC out there that I wasn't aware of. Great knife.

From your choices, I would pick the Endura or the Stryker - unless Camillus is bringing out the CUDA EDC in a four incher.

john smith v,

from the looks of that camillus website i posted it looks like they might!
as it has one along with a few others when asking for your name and
email so they can contact you when they open the new camillus cutery co
webpage.

hears hoping
