Thinking out loud.......

Hey GP, you weren't the only one that has been drinking tonight. That was a bottle of wine and 2 rum and cokes talk for; "great idea, I want to come too!!"

:D

GS

This is the first alcohol I've had since before Christmas - damn cold/flu!

Man, I'd love to see you up here - you could split the gas with Rescue Riley and Marcelo.

I could visit my brother in Sault Ste. Marie for a grouse hunt... and if it happens to coincide, I could pop over for a few days. Where are you thinking? As far south as Hamilton? If so, I have a sister near Detroit too that I could visit....

I'm thinking possibly the London area, which is even closer to Detroit.

It is about a 9 hour trip for me by car, But my wife has family somewhere in Ontario. It is definately a possibilty for me.

Don't tease me GS.

God how I love this site. (for me it's wild turkey tonight, I went and unloaded some negative opinions on another site but I have been having a ball on this one!!)

Wish I could make it that far Doc...I really do...If it happens I want to see lots of pics!!

Hey mistwalker, I wish you could too. Who knows???

Doc

Thats another hour on my time. How about you push a lil east....

This is all up in the air, at the moment. Depending where everybody is coming from, the location can be reflective. Assuming, of course, there is enough interest.

Doc

It's easy enough for me to make it to Winnipeg and drop the family off at the in-laws, so further west would work better from this end! :)

Geez, Plainsman, as much as I'd love to see you here, I'm afraid, if it's a go, it will be going in Southern Ontario.

We do have train, plane and bus service, though. I'd pick you up, myself, if it comes to that.

Doc

I'm already there waitin' fer everybody...:p

Seriously, my forge is portable and my gear is always packed and ready to go.

My only problem would be the date... Isn't that the weekend before the kids are back in school? You may have to talk to my wife for me...

I'd be willing to house or help folks coming from the Detroit border. I'm 1hr out of Detroit and 1.5hrs from London.

I'd love to meet you guys, but I think that S. Ont. is not in the books this year. But now I expect this to be a yearly thing!

That's a response I've been hoping for! It would be after labour day - cheaper park rentals, not so many kids around, cooler temperatures, etc.

As far as your wife goes, I've had experience talking to lovely ladies (I've seen pictures, doubt it? I can post them. :D )

Besides The Shadow, who knows what the future holds?????

Doc

hey Rick, wouldn't it be great if Talfuchre could come, and we could take turns beating on him?

(What, no 'excited' smilie?)

Doc

after Labour day - sometime in Sept.... hmmm.
Might be possible.
A looooong ride for my DRZ, might wanna fly - have to think about that.

This sounds great! If you don't mind an 18 year old greenhorn I'd love to give it a shot! I'd need to get a big heads up for the date to be able to schedule it in though.

Great idea Doc!

Is there any grant money available from the Doc Foundation to subsidize international participants?

You'd better post some good pictures.

A yearly thing, eh? Do you know how old I am? Sometimes I think September is wishful thinking. :(

If we don't mind an 18 year old greenhorn? We're all greenhorns, just some are greener than others.

With the money in the Doc Foundation, and you chipping in a buck, we could probably buy a small bottle of Coca Cola. :o

Seriously, though, for this to work it will have to be a co-operative effort of all those involved.

Sounds like a great idea to me, Doc. I would love to get together to share skills, compare knives, and have a laugh.

All the best,

- Mike

You being there is a given, Mike, do you think we'd let you off the hook, like the last time in Cambridge??? :D

Then I'll fit right in then! :D

Just let me know what you'd like me to do to help out and I'll definitely do my best. This sounds like a blast.

Hi Doc

Sounds like a great idea. When you finalize the where and when let me know and I will be there.

Phil

If this is up for labor day wekend please confirm and I will make arrangements now for work and childcare.
