The link you posted reported some 187,000 people *disenfranchised*. Assuming they are all republicans, Bush would still be behind Gore by about 100,000 in the popular vote.
The red/blue map of the country charting the vote is here:
http://www.usatoday.com/news/vote2000/electfront.htm
Currently, Bush is ahead of Gore by about 4 electoral votes. With this election so close, everyone on all sides need to know *unequivocally* who really won. Dont you think so?
In terms of your claim that the *population today* wants Gore to concede, it is questionable. When a news source states
this as:
"As of this writing, 92.2 percent said to give it up. Only 7.4 percent wanted [Gore] to keep crying for more recounts."
You have to wonder if NewsMax.com is slanted towards Bush and is a reliable news source in general. Especially since they are accusing Gore of voter fraud and "stealing the election". I would be interested to
know how the poll was executed (i.e. was it an online poll). 92% does not really mean much when only 1000 or even 10,000 people participate.
I will check into "Unlimited Access" to see what the Clinton + Gore administration is *REALLY* like. My feeling is that it
is just dirt.
Im checking into the reason as to why the Florida Democratic Party filed the motion. This is what I found so far:

It suggests that FDP was objecting mainly because of the affiliation of Judicial Watch and the high possibility of compromise with the ballets. I think it's interesting how Harris immediately jumps to certify Bush based solely on the machine recount when the recount ordered called for it to be done manually.
