Thinnest blade slipjoint for <$100

Good point on the bulldogs. Probably more accurate to say Olbertz (eye brand as well) bulldogs. I have a Congress bulldog that has thin and flexy blades.

I have a henkels whittler made by Boker than has extremely thin and flexible blades. Also my eye brand stockman blades are quite thin as well.

The Canal Street Cutlery muskrat has very thin blades (two identical clips). Steel is 14-4CrMo, usually sell for around $70 depending on handle material. There are occasionally Hawbaker versions floating around that big auction site as well (these were special order knives from a few years ago).

Fantoni dweller... You have a few handle variations there. Good quality Italian made slipjoint (not carbon steel though). If you don't mind a backlock, the EKA swede range are great.... But I have to agree with the mases here... Opinel all the way.

I forgot about the Hawbakers (how could I...it's my all time favorite pattern). The blades on the Canal Street (I own one) are nice and thin. Queen made Hawbakers under a few different names. Queen (duh), Schatt and Morgan, Robeson, Northwoods. I know some have 2 springs, which I can't speak for, but most have one spring, and the blades on these are thin too.

Something else to consider is finding a blade combo and handle shape that suits your fancy, then contacting one of the many excellent knife makers here at BF and have them perform a re-grind to your specs. Custom feel without the price IMO.

Thanks for all the good info everyone. I like a lot of what I've been looking at from the suggestions here. Unfortunately I don't have the option to choose one right now since I pulled the trigger on a pm2 when it came back in stock last week! I'll certainly be revisiting this in the future

Well, turns out the paramilitary 2 isnt for me. At least I know I'll get my money back selling it!

Is Lloyd refering to John Lloyd? I cant seem to find much of his work for sale, there appear to be some other Lloyds that make knives also though.

Yep! Vince (VCM3) is the best way to get ahold of some of John's work.

Interesting to see that no one has mentioned the Mercator K55 yet :)

The mercator k55 is interesting..I think the price point intrigues me the most.

Thanks sonneman

I could do a whole review if you'd like. I completely adore this knife.
