This is number three. I like the one I made my employee, so I'm making a slightly slimmed down version for myself. The blade is narrower at .69 inches, so I wanted to thin the tip a bit for precision/ cutting. I think it will work in function, but it looks a bit odd to me, maybe just because the bevel on the first one does not cross the spine. What do you all think?

Forgot the picture.

I think it would look better if the grind either went all the way to the top the entire length of the grind, or if a consistent bit of un-ground blade ran the top length of the grind.

so if i run it all the way up, wont the plunge line look goofy? or is the idea that at you take it up exactly so the plunge line disappears just at the spine?

I like it as is. I might would bring the curve on the plunge back a little more towards where it actually starts at.

Thanks for the advice. Sanding the flats in prep for HT, the line came down a hair. Here it is ready for temper.

You want to leave it short of the spine. When you finish sand it after ht you can blend it. Don't let the plunge break the spine.
