This anvil is walking

Heya all. I just recently put concrete on half of my shop that was previously dirt, sand, gravel, etc... Previously, my anvil would dig itself into the dirt, so I put a plate on the bottom and it fixed that. Now, the anvil walks around the floor. Evidently there are enough irregularities on the floor that the uneveness is causing this. Once I build my treadle hammer, I'm thinking of bolting the thing to the floor. Other than making a heavier base for it, are there any other temporary solutions that might help the anvil to stop traveling?

Check the bottom of your stump with a staght edge, it is probably concave. If it is dish out the center until it stops walking.

I guess I should have said originally, my anvil is on an old, metal stand that has the four feet that are around 4 square inches in area. Would the thick rubber still work with this?
