This Busse looks like it will be an excellent field blade

I really like the looks of that one also, but I'll just keep dreaming.

reminds me of the RMD ...the RMD is almost perfect ...Great steel and design + does not cost a arm & leg...

I really like the looks of it, and it's 3/16th" stock. So for the Busse regulars here, how hard will it be to get?
Well it looks like the first bunch will be at the Busse Knob Creek show. Then possibly at a GANZA (which have their own rules) and then at the Busse Combat Store. They will be popular so it might be tough to get one in the 5" size. Later the 4" size will show up at the Busse Combat Store as well, but from what it sounds like, in more quantity. Usually stuff goes wicked fast there if it's popular which this one is. :D

I actually like the looks of that one. Anybody know the price tag on it?
Liking and affording are two very different things unfortunately.

THese will go extremely fast both the 4" & 5"; has a $$ been declared, just trying to figure what the secondary market will bump too...I know i will not get one until then...

Its possible that there will be more of these available for the ganza than is usual. Knob Creek has apparently been cancelled due to flooding.

ooohh.... i like it.... it's probably one of the first busse's that i wouldn't mind checking out....:o

Same here. I really like the shape, looks like a great all around woods knife. If it is relatively easy to get and at a reasonable price, I want to try and get one.

That's my thought also. The 5" might now become a bit easier to get, but will scoot right quick. Still dificult.

The 4" will move fast also, but the Co Store usually gets good quanities.

I'm waiting on the BusMuks myself.

It must be just me, but that is one of the ugliest knives I've ever seen. You guys can have 'em.

'Well there's your problem, there seems to be a big hole where the handle should be.'

I can't quite understand those talon holes, I know it's their trademark but ...............

I don't believe that is a talon hole, at least not as its been patented. I'm thinking it was included as a lashing point. Or maybe to change the balance? I think there is a design thread somewhere on this one but I haven't read it.

My understanding and I could be wrong is that this style will only be offered at the two shows and throught the ganzaa. It will then be offered at the BCS as a 4" knife. There is a second 5" design that is similuar but has a choil and a more pronounched talon hole that will also be offered but I'm not sure when and through what venue. There is also a 7" knife in the works.

The thing to remeber is that this series of knives were designed for Search and Rescue and Jerry Busse asked for input from the forum members; specifically those of us that are part of the SAR community. I'm looking forward to next weeked and getting my hands on these knives.

I am pretty impressed that Jerry listens to his customers and has given us what we want.

Too much blade out front for me. Might be a little akward around camp, imvho.

Why have a an upper swedge (used for penetration) on such a tall blade at that location of the geometry?

Maybe an after thought, because it appears blade heavy... :foot:

Uhh, this opinion comes a Busse owner who hasn't handled this one ;)
