This could be addicting... 2nd attemp at patinizing a blade

There is a difference this time. What you have on this one is what it looks like after about one hour and not four or five hours. It's quite possible that different results will come from different grapefruit, as some may be more acidic than others. Also, this steel is 1095 while the Swamp Warden is SR-101 (52100). While both are high carbon steels (at least that's what I understand, please correct me if I'm wrong) they may react slightly differently to the grapefruit. The 1095 is a chrome vanadium steel. Would that make a difference? Perhaps... Also, the SR-101 Swamp Warden blade was put back into a damp leather sheath, which made the pattern look a bit richer, that is more oxidized. I may still do some other tweaks to this blade.
