This could be more expensive than collecting knives !!!

Cast iron is like guns and knives. You can have more than you need but not as many as you want. Do a search for "cast iron cookware", "cast iron or dutch oven cooking" and you'll find much info. i started with a skillet, then a flat bottom dutch oven, then larger ones and I still am buying. Lost count. Mainly at thrift shops, yard sales. Don't forget to oil bottom. I use mineral oil as it doesn't get rancid.

I have two cast Iron pots or dutch ovens as you call them we use at home or when camping and everything you make in them allways taste great.
Quick tip, when you have a cast iron pot or skillet with a lid, everytime you replace the lid while cooking or when cleaning, give it a little twist to make the lid spin. Over time this wears off the iron and allows for a more air tight seal between pot and lid. Also when storing for a while coat the pot with cooking oil on the inside, this stops it from rusting and you having to do some serious scrubbing to clean it after.

The book "Cast Iron for Dummies" has a bunch of good information in it.
One of the things that I like is that it has a chart that tells about how many briquets you need for a certain temperature for a certain size camp oven. IE if you have a 10" camp oven and your recipie calls for 350 deg. put 12 on the top and six underneath.(Those aren't the right # of briquets, but you get the idea)
The book has lots of recipies, hints for storage and clean up and a bunch of other good information. One thing, if you are looking for a new piece of cast cookware, buy something made in USA like Lodge. They said you never know what has been melted down to make some of the imported stuff. You probably wouldn't want to cook breakfast on something made from melted engine blocks:eek:
