Good Pic... One hint to small product photography (which is totally non-trivial) is to tent the product with say a white sheet that will diffuse the light source and eliminate the shadows.

Ben, thnaks for the tip. Does the part of the white paper hold true for digital cameras too. The picture above was taken in almost total darkness. The shadow is from the flash. How do I eliminate the shadow? Thanks

Difussion is a good thing. With lighting go for two sources: Key and Fill. Use another light source to eliminate shadows caused by the Key source.
