This is a cool knife!

You probably should post the name and a picture of the knife rather than linking to a non-forum dealer. In a nutshell that is a rules violation because you are essentially providing free advertising to a non-forum dealer. There is a list of approved dealers here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/935876-***List-Of-Bladeforums-Dealers***

It is an interesting knife and I like autos a lot (I EDC a Benchmade 3150 Impel) but it seems a bit overdone for my tastes.

If you can't spend $750 on a knife, then you really can't waste $750 on a knife. And considering Microtech's recent quality issues and customer service failings (not to mention their counterfeiting practices), that's probably what you'd be doing if you bought that knife.

Looks ugly and is insanely overpriced, plus you get microtech's famously bad customer service if you ever have an issue with it. Nice package deal for only $750.

Renegade, we are a paying forum dealer! I promise :)

Thanks for the correction...that is good information! I was looking at the forum earlier today where it was pointed out that only links to approved dealers are allowed and then I saw Dandoro's post. I didn't want Dandoro, who is new to the forum, to get in trouble because I didn't see BladeHQ on the list. I'm sorry if I've caused any confusion. I really like your website...lots of good stuff there!

Haha it's probably our own fault for making our username VidKnight instead of BladeHQ or something easy like that. It's no problem, I wouldn't want anyone to get in trouble either, and it's good for you to watch out. I just felt like I should let people know. :)

Can someone recommend me a custom knife? 200 dollars (including shipping) max. Basically I'm super picky and it has to be perfect for the price. It's a knife I"ll keep forever.

A custom knife with perfect finish for $200?

...

You could get some pretty nice production knives for that price?

Fugly, :thumbdn:  :thumbdn: ...and the price is ever Fuglier.

Yes, that's a word, I checked with "W".

For 200 you're probably not going to find a custom that fit's what you're looking for. There are some decent production knives in that range, but none of them are going to be %100 perfect every time. Either save more, or put away your microscope.

How can you claim to be super picky when it appears that you can't afford a knife made to the level of perfection that you want?

What I meant was I don't like wasting any money at all. A knife that I buy for me will have to be good enough for me to last forever. Since I can't afford a custom yet, is it possible to get a production knife customized with art?

You can get a knife that will last you a very long time if properly cared for. But you can't get a perfect knife that has no unevenness, machining marks, etc for under $200. There are people who modify production knives with filework and such, but that doesn't make it last longer, obviously. Going by the knife you linked to, I'm also not sure about what you mean by "art."

Let's go back to the beginning. You live in Canada, so how do you expect to import an automatic knife into Canada without repercussions?
