This is bigger than knives....

MikeH: Those are great Busse stories you have about your Daughter. I'm sorry to hear about her accident. My prayers go out to you and yours. I hope to see some pics of game you two bring down at some point.

I don't have any big experience with Busse Co other than that Amy is always an incredible help and stays on top of everyone's forgetfulness keeping to a tight schedule and Jerry has taken the time to personally answer all the emails I've ever sent him and seems to be a cool guy!

i'll have to think about this... i have talked to the jantior way more than jerry.. can't we talk about the janitor instead?

.
Since you have the Janitor's ear, could you please ask him to grind some more flat fats? Thanks! ;)

Bottom line "he makes a kick a$$ product and stands behind it 1000%"

awhile back I called the shop looking for Amy about an order. I was speaking to this guy... about 25 minutes later he says " by the way Hi I'm Jerry" I started to chukkle! Just a down to earth kind of guy! If I remember right his birthday was in a couple of days and Jennifer was getting near do with the baby. With all that going on, to sit and chew the fat with a guy from N.Y. he never met, says alot!

I'll always buy his knives, not only because there pretty much indestructable, but there made by a genuine good hard working guy. That takes the time to listen to others and stands behind everything he makes!

My votes in for Jerry! "Yes for Jerry"

:D

After meeting Jerry exactly once at the Chicago Custom Knife Show I asked him if he'd be willing to donate a knife to a charity event that I help out with:

Its the Kevin T. Flanagan memorial scholarship fund:
http://www.kevintflanaganscholarship.org/

Kevin Flanagan died tragically at the age of 25, and was a Chicago Police Officer. His family and friends came together to raise money for a scholarship fund in his name, which is paying for tuition for several students at Kevin’s Alma Mater, St. Patrick High School. Both Kevin's parents are retired police and his brother is a Chicago firefighter.

Jerry has donated a knife for the fundraiser for each of the last two years. The first was a Swamp Rat Bandicoot inscribed with "In Memory of Kevin," the second a Scrapper Six. I am a piglet, not a hog - not someone who Jerry knew before I asked, but just a quick mention about the cause and Jerry
stepped up. I didn't have to beg, I barely had to ask- Jerry simply said yes- and there are a couple of happy coppers who now have some quality steel and donated money to a good cause in getting it (now thats what I call a win-win).

I met Jerry at Blade '06. At that point I had not yet purchased my first Busse blade, I am not a regular on the forums and certainly not any kind of VIP. Yet Jerry took the time to talk to me and treated me like I was someone special. He and the rest of the Busse Combat staff made me feel welcome and quite at home at the Busse table. Quite a guy.

Same here -- met Jerry at Blade last year and he was just an awesome guy. He won a customer for life with his "down to earth" personality and his obvious committment in making/selling/standing behind his knives.

I can't say it any better than it's already been said, just adding an "amen" to the bunch

What can I say? He knows the reason for living... Live well, love well and it returns to you twofold. He seems to apply the same ethic toward the people who work for him... even tolerating a CNCCD. ;)

He ALWAYS replies to trolls and P.I.T.As with grace and aplomb.

I don't think I've ever spoken to Jerry. :)

The janitor?? Now, HIM I've talked to... that man rocks! He really digs HOG schemes! I'm drinking with this guy!

(MikeH... as I've said before, Kim is my hero. I wish I had a 1/4 of the heart that kid shows every day. You are blessed to have her, my man.)

When the Milganzaa was on i rang the shop to give Amy-o my details. The voice on the line said sorry she has gone for the day, this is Jerry Busse i'd be happy to take your details.HOLY CRAP,Boss Hogg himself i was thinking to myself, luckily i didnt speak gibberish and a short conversation ensued which went something like this "you better get yourself over hear to blade and we will teach you to drink". ....WOW...summoned by the Boss. When i spoke to Jerry it was like i already knew him,he was a genuine nice guy and i could feel that on the phone, half a world away!
