This is getting nuts!

...maybe someone should "test the waters" and auction one... ;)
Go ahead Rich. :D We're all anxious to see how much money we've made on our "investment" :D

Well, I've got a knife up on eBay now that is priced (buy it now) a lot less than the MSRP, but competitively with others offering the same knife. It'll be interesting to see if someone snaps it up or if it just goes unbought.

Ah - the "Buck 402 LE Akonua Sambar Stag Handle - Limited Ed. #68"...

Just a BIN??? Why not bidding *and* a BIN??? I tell you, after a couple days bidding in one dollar increments, I gladly pay the BIN...just to save the aggravation of more bidding...

(I just bought an old motorcycle in just that manner)

Yep, that's it, and while I was tempted to just put it out for bid, too many of my items (of all sorts) would not garner a bid after a week. And, I doubt many would bid more than I'm asking, so I hope some good collector will take it off my hands. There are a couple of folders I have my eye on (that I would actually use!) with the $$ I would get from this item. Like it? It's all yours....

I'm waiting for you to auction off yours...hopefully, to me... :D

How would you word the BCCI auction??? Most of the eBay "usual suspects" probably don't realize what a BCCI knife is, or how rare they are...and how would you price it??? Have you kept note of how much past BCCI knives have brought???

I think you should put yours up for a hidden Reserve of $1000, and a Starting Bid of $20...We'll get an idea of the Real Market Value by the bidding...and that way, if some fool...uh, collector...does buy it, you won't feel bad at losing it... :p

  ...Why didn't you guys wake me up???...I'd bid on it too...LOL...  :D

Hummmmmmmmmmmmmm!

I just happened to have TWO ......

You guys make this sound tempting.........nah...............

Ya see, I look at it this way, "how much does your wife love YOU?" LOL.
She would say, well, at least it's money not spent on booze and women.

Funny, my ex asked me what I've been up to now that my GF and I broke up last month. Told her that I was going nuts cause the forum was down.
She just rolled her eyes and asked, in amazement, "you mean there are others like you that are Buck Knuts?" and then, again, "how many knives can you possibly need?"
Told her that knives are like women, it's not that you need 'em, it's that you want 'em.
I'm such a sensitive guy....

The above referenced auction ended up with two very motivated BCCI members who were each very determined to win the bid. I assure you they each knew the market value but were willling to pay much more than market to satisfy their collection interest. Sadly, only one of them could win that auction. Now, the auction winner and several other club members will be keeping our eyes and ears open to help the lower bidder find one for his collection!

as the winner said some times you jest have to have it...
to me and mu .02 worth i have stated several times -
you buy for what you WANT and what it is worth to you at that time -
not market resale or likely increase in resale value ..
that could be strong sure sign of investor or dealer dealing .... and not a true collector
BTW any rember base ball cards? lots lost lots
collect for what you want not value ... buy only what you can afford ..
other wise that is a sign of disreguard for other responsabites in your life ...
yea i know - in dutch with wife now ond on cold turky buck feaver cure....

I followed this one and could not believe it actully got a buyer. Now it will be interesting to see if the buyer really knew about the shipping.

It's gotta be a typo...he prolly meant $15.00 Flat rate shipping...I hope...

I'm gonna keep monitoring the feed back on this one. Sumtin is bad wrong if that is truly the shipping charge. The guy never answered my question about it.

...remember that guy who was selling a "vintage" Buckmaster 184? 186? BOX ??...I think it went for like $150 or something in that area...That buyer actually missed the fact that it was the box only that was for sale. The seller mentioned that it was the box only a number of times in the auction ad and it was still missed by the buyer...The buyer never paid up either IIRC...
