This is my ______ there are many others like it....

My BG-42 Buck 110 with carbon fiber scales. I have another w/CF scales but w/420HC steel. The BG-42 version I am much more fond of... :D:thumbup:

I can appreciate that more than you know, but since it's a custom, it doesn't really apply to the "many others like it" part of the saying.;)

Murray Carter is considered a custom knife maker, but he produces many many neck knives that are very similar. This one just happens to be "mine". There may be many out there that were nearly identical when they were first made, but only mine has the dings and scratches on it that make it unique to me, as well as my edge and my polish and finish.

I get 100% what you are saying, and I think this is a great thread.

Samael,

Nice Ruana. I don't see them here much.

Funny you should mention that. No, you don't, and I'm not sure why. That 21A with a 6" blade is a one-off - you'll never see another one if those.

Here's my next order from them, should be here around springtime next year (I'm having them do ebony inserts instead, though):

I have SOG Fusion tomohawk that is sort of a one of a kind. It has machined titanium handle on it. I replaced the wooden one when it broke.... Sort of handle heavy but a real work horse! ;)

I'm sorry - I sorta de-railed this thread into a conversation about "one-of-a-kind" knives, which was fun, but obviously not the OP's intent. Here's my favorite "production" knife that I like so much I've bought three of them:

For me it would be the Buck/Mayo TNT. This knife just did it for me from the first day I handled it. Smooth, light, perfect size edc, top shelf materials, (Bos heat treated S30V & titanium ftame) and a great fit and finish. I like the knife so well I ordered two more to put away when I heard Buck had discontinued the Mayo folder line.

DPX HEST. The more I use it, the more I like it.

Coming up on 40 years of carrying a fixed blade daily...
unbelievable how much utility I find in the HEST.

It is not pretty, but it has served me well for almost 50 years.

+1 Yes, a custom is unique but the saying considers something, that was made in a large number.

This is my Swiss Army Knife, there are many others like it....
but this one is mine.

My first Endura - the first tactical folder I ever bought. I got it in 1993 and after about 15 years I officially retired it after I almost lost it. I still carry it around the house from time to time. I love that knife.

My 2003 Emerson Commander. I sanded off the "satin" coating that it came with, dremeled off the wave, and it has been used to chop, baton, slice, pierce, etc....and has struck many a ferro rods with it's squared off spine in pursuit of a fire :D

Newer beater knives are my American Lawman (with steel liners) and the 2010 AK-47. I love these knives, there are many like them but these are mine!

My Opinel 09. Except for the thin edge bevel, burned spots and strange patina, there are many others like i. But I've been using it since I was 7, so it's mine. Been through a lot of shit you shouldn't do with a knife but I only chipped off a little edge near the handle once, which has been ground out a long time ago.

ZT0300 and my Emerson Commander. I've had a Commander since 1998 and have added the ZT0300 about 8 months ago, can't decide which one I like more so I swap out every other day.

I also carry a pocket knife for those occassions that my larger knife might inappropriate. I have carried a Case Cranberry Sow Belly since 2001.

Also favoring my ZT0350. For some reason I just have a certain connection with it... of course, it was the purchase that got me started on knives in the first place.....
