This is sad.

that sucks.. not all the comments were irrational though.
some of the kids thought knives were fine and didn't
want their bags search but it was the minority of comments.

You know what really got me though? It sounds
like these schools are more like prisons then schools.

"What's the point in defending people against knifes. Wasn't it just recently people used scissors and a pencil sharpener blade? Should we just ban them too? No. If people want to feel safe at school, maybe there should be better protection for victims and better punishments on bullies. "

Anna, 13, Brighton

Amen to that.

"I don't think knives should be carried around in the pubilc because can be used as a weapon and if you slip and it is in your pocket it may cut you. "

Ben, 11, Crewe

... LOL

Someone should tell him that sheath and folders were invented on the last... 4 milleniums.

True, that's more than a little depressing. Schools make great brainwashing facilities, and they're require to attend them no less! Positive reinforcement for like-minded 'group think', to the liberal bend.

I also strongly suspect that at least several of those posts are adults posing as youngsters, just based on the feel and reading level of the post. Many seem contrived, at the least.

I am in Junior High and we are not allowed to take bags into our classes. We keep them in our lockers. In High schools we have cameras and also a police station. We do not get any violence. We also get paid money when we tell on people who are doing things wrong. I go to a great school!

I feel bad for the British , but they voted themselves into this and allowed thier politicians to run thier loves , so...... Not my problem.

Here we have a 12 year old girl with more sense than most of the boys.

I think knives are good and bad. I think they are good when you eat or go camping or even sometimes for self defence because sometimes that is all you have. I think they are bad when people take the self defence a little to far. I mean that when people get in a fight and some one ends up in the hospital.

and then numbnuts abound like this little tool

Knives are for people, who have no self-believe, making them resort to petty weapons for confidence and encouragement. If your asking me, it's sad.

Bren, 15, Manchester

but then this girl opens her cakehole and....
I hate knives, they look so tormenting. I try to avoid them at all costs.

Vanessa, 11, Orpington

Yes , yes little Angharad , I am sure a young idiot like yourself will just love a police state. People who carry knives should be shot against the wall , just to make the point , hmm ?
The law should use more force to stop under age people buying them. I think it is pointless to carry them with you. You don't NEED them!

You are a 13 year old girl ? Were you serious about liking the fact that you can get paid to be a rat ?
This is what part of our future is ? :thumbdn:

Were you serious about liking the fact that you can get paid to be a rat?

I hope that was sarcasm... :o But if you really did feel in danger of losing your life as a 13 year old, would it not be more comforting to know that at this school you probably aren't going to get shivved on your way to the bathroom?

I have a way to fix this problem. We need to send each house in England lots of mail wrapped in twine, containing blocks of hard cheese, unsliced bread, a leg of beef, and a letter inviting them to prepare a sandwich without a knife.

:barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: :thumbdn:

these morons should never be allowed near a knife for the rest of their lives, so they can gnaw through stuff like the rats they are:mad:

that is sad, that their only knowledge of knives comes from movies and stuff where knives are only used as weapons.

i've been carrying a knife since i was eight years old, have used it almost every day, and have never once used it in its capacity as a weapon. sadly, yes, kids are dumb. they're not allowed to think for themselves.

The problem isn't just the uninformed kids. As someone mentioned, it really is a kind of brainwashing to give this kind of loaded question to little kids.

It's begging the question. One would think a briton would be more intelligent about things like that, seeing as they invented the language and all.

This one seems pretty sane
I think knives are not dangerous but they can in the wrong hands.
Thea, 10, Swansea

Yes, knifes are dangerous.

Saria, 12, Leeds

YOU'RE 12 and can't even spell a simple word..

Hehe GarageBoy, Shhhh, I always hated how they used f for sinulgar and v for plural, O and if I wasn't allowed to buy knives I would probably go insane and start stabbing everyone with rather blunt yet lethal objects, honestly, a knife is a better tool than a weapon, what makes a knife soo much mor edangerous than a freshly sharpened pencil????? Both can kill easily, then their are the scissors, they can easily be jabbed into soft tissue, FGS you could kill someone with a chair. I swear, these people piss me off.

OMFG, can I kill him? You won't tell on me will you? Im still a minor.!

Any other article which has a blade or which is sharply pointed;

oops I bought a pencil I must go to jail.

These kids is dumb... dumb as hell.
I wish people werent such idiots. If only there was a word to describe them... something that compared them to a domesticated animal that grows its hair to be made into sweaters... if only I could think a little harder... but alas these kids have made me more stupider by reading their comments.

Sounds like me! I got my first SAK on my 7'th birthday. Sadly it only takes one or two fools to ruin it for the rest of us.

This whole topic makes me sad. The direction the world is headed seems to be chosen by the "sheeple". Next martial arts will be outlawed, then maybe pointy sticks.... and so on. Outside of www.kniferights.org what can we do? (Besides break the law?)

This is a sad situation! It doesn't occur to these children that a knife could be anything but an offensive weapon - apparently one with a mind of its own that may attack its user at any moment!

Schools anymore scare me. Children, regardless of which country they are in, are being programmed for a police state. It's no wonder juvenile crime is on the rise - a prison feels more familiar to today's youths than society!

That whole section on that site seems to be "anti knife". Theres even an interview with a guy who talks about how he used to carry a knife, and now "deeply regrets it" or some such garbage.

Flipping morons.
