My friend who sorted out Chinese customs for me just called to tell me that Busse knives are a forbidden product in china due to the steel or how it shows up when they run through the scanners, chemical and otherwise i guess .
He , told me not to order anymore because they will not be allowed in.

Hmm , seems that if i want more it's either ship to my house in japan or pick some up when i go to the states.

Really sucks . So all who have should occasionally think of all the poor hungry oinkrs in places with strange ideas.

Want to buy a bridge?

Sure bridges are good can i get one from Peru ?

Look i have no idea how these things work ? Banned , scanners etc.. And my chinese isn't perfect but i have known this guy who is local for over twelve years and his english is very good . Why would he bs me? Perhaps the custom dude is bs but no way I can ever know this .

I hear you. After living several years in exotic countries I've seen some ludicrous customs regulations. But what you experience is plainly the worst case for any INFI addict.

Where I am currently living it's much better but not less strange: Any knives can be shipped inbound - but outbound will always be rejected and returned to sender. I am somehow forced by government regulations to build up a Busse collection beyond my means...

Sounds a little outlandish to me. But I'm not there, so who knows.

I would guess that the "combat" part of the name makes it hard to call it anything but a weapon, which could easily cause customs issues.

I have to admit, that's part of why I prefer the blades with the plain BUSSE or custom shop logo.

When I read things like this, I think that sometimes we take some things for granted. I live where you can pretty much have anything. I can carry my gun and knife with me at all times, and they are not hard to get. There are lots of countries that are hard to get these things or where they are not even allowed. So I'm a luck man.

He did get that meaner from in the end so that's a happy ending but it did take a long time.

We should never take anything for granted, make sure you all vote.

lachine and dingy both have gotten Busse knives into China. Big choppers won't get through Customs. Arfropubes, you could try contacting the Busse shop by email, and they could probably give you advice on the subject.

What he said.....

Mine came in only after intervention with customs. The thing is laws are in constant flux he as well as very arbitrary it isn't unreasonable to suspect they have changed within the last six months to year . I have two choppers and two boss jack.
I think we can all agree the bj isn't a chopper but they denied that also.

I also find it a bit of a head scratcher but i don't pretend to understand the laws or customs procedures in this country.

As to the other members who are in china lachina does anyone know what his job is or who he is ? He may be gov he certainly is no farmer.

Peace.

That would be something you should take up directly with lachine thru PM or email and not in the open forum.

If I cared I would. my point is that who ever he is or they are in this country they are either government or rich business men with a few officials in the pocket as ninety-nine
percent of the population could never afford or have even heard of busse or any other quality knife.

Ah mate they were marked camping tools.

For the record i did get them but only after making a call to a friend who has connections in customs and that
Lad is the one who says they are forbidden (his words) as for me any more will be hand carried by myself or friends who are coming to visit. I am not to fussed about it I just find it odd and now want to order a cheap machete and see if they allow it seems that would answer the question as to if it's a matter of size or a matter of the product.

Peace

Sounds like they've realized what Infi steel is, and it's considered too good not to be confiscated by the usual bureaucratic thieves. ;)
