This is very upsetting....to me as a knifemaker and as a father

Seems like plenty of folks think that the suspension was way too much, which to me is great news.

It looks like there is still great support out there for carrying and using a pocketknife!

I hope our legislators take note...

Maybe I have missed it, but I'd like to see Knife Rights get in the public view when these things happen. Knives are getting battered in the press and classified as weapons. The more people hear that, the more they percieve them as such.

What's disturbing to me is that most people today don't realize (1) we are naturally a tool making/tool carrying species and that knives are, in most cases, intended to be a tool, not a weapon, and (2) just about ANYTHING can be used as a weapon (I carried and employed a Hohner harmonica - brass reinforced hardwood square ends extending from either side of my fist - as an effective striking weapon while stationed in Europe).

I visited the site in the following photo yesterday... had a couple knives on me. My Koster was in the leather sheath on a dangler. A couple mountain bike riders stopped after I had taken the photo and sheathed the knife.
One asked if I had a sidearm after seeing the sheath (with firesteel) sticking out under my shell jacket. I told him it was a Bushcraft knife and moved my jacket aside so he could see. He then informed me that that size blade was illegal to carry and that it is considered a weapon. I then corrected him, that it is a wilderness tool and that it was not a weapon. I also pointed out that the definition of a "weapon" is something used to injure, defeat or destroy another person and that it's intent is none of these.
He just shrugged his shoulders and they both rode off.
