After hanging out on the maintenance, tinkering and embellishment forum, I got this great idea I could sharpen my ZT 392 in CTS-204P steel. Maybe this was not to good an idea. It did not get sharp, it just got a big burr on the edge. I said since I like this knife, I think I will send it to someone that maybe knows what they are doing. I sent my knife to a man by the name of Martin at washboardsharpening.com. In four days my knife was back to me. I will tell you one thing, it was not dull now! I usually test my knives that I sharpen on my arm or belly to see if they will shave the hair. I knew better than to try it with this knife. This is the sharpest I have ever felt a knife. A man has to be dam careful now. He thinned and straighten out the factory edge and did a couple other things to the edge. I think all I will have to do now is maybe strop it on a piece of leather to keep it sharp. I will say one thing, I am sure some of my other knives will be going to get a real sharpening.

There is a lot of information in this forum to help an enthusiast learn how to sharpen a blade.
A guided system should not have too long of a learning curve, if other methods are too frustrating.

Exactly ^^^^

I don't care what kind of steel you're packing, if you use your blade to cut dirty carpeting it's gonna get dull fast...

And that's just one example of a material that will render an edge useless before lunchtime...

+1 on developing those bench & field sharpening skills!

At the same time, it's great to hear you got amazing service from your provider cause it's always a good thing to have backup, thanks for sharing!
