All of you have been a big help to narrow down my search for a new knife and i am down to three now

-Manix 2
-Pm2
-Griptillian
group vote wins comment down below to let me know what you think

All three.
I've had all; traded my Manix; wish I had it back.
Depends on what you like as to which you get first assuming you won't order all three today.
Manix = stoutest blade / thick at the edge also so good for heavy duty work.
PM2 = best tip for careful / precise tip cutting nice slicey blade, fun to play with (flick)(blade drop) NICEST IN POCKET .
Griptillian = best handle / thick and rounded, lighter lock release than Manix so fun to play with, wide blade but very thin behind the edge (for a production knife) = super great cutter yet stout tip even more so than the Manix. Maybe the lightest of the three I never paid much attention but the Griptillian feels light but strong.

Just for reference, what other knives do you have?
-kats cheetah
-cold steel san mai tanto folder
-timberline specwar
-ive got tons , if you really want i can post more more theese are my big dogs

In my experience the Manix 2 is better at cutting than the Grip due to the full flat grind. They only have a difference in blade stock of .01 of an inch (BladeHQ specs) I wouldn't say it's thick behind the edge either (unless you're talking about the hollow ground version?)

The Manix 2 is also the most ergonomic of the three in my opinion.

My vote goes towards the Manix.

I've owned all three; I still own my Manix 2 (albeit the LW S110V version). I'm not sure which Manix 2 version you're considering, but the G10/S30V or S110V LW would both get my vote over your other two candidates.

I haven't been here long but I know there's a lot of love for Spyderco around here (with good reason) and it will probably win, but.......i love the axis lock so I'll vote BM. Specially if you can find it in s30v or 154 although I don't mind coated D2 at all.
Griptilian for the win.

Well my thinking was, if you have already BB Lock or Axis Lock Knives a PM2 with Compression Lock would be cool to try out. From a purely practical stand point I would probably go with the Manix 2, then the Grip then the PM2, although I really like the PM2 I still don't trust the tip all that much. I have a Manix 2 and PM2's , but between the two I like the PM2 more simply because I prefer the compression lock but from a harder use/daily use I would trust the Manix more.

I've had all three at some point.

Manix 2 - The most ergonomic of the 3. Can be had in a g10 or FRCP version. Get the G10 if you're concerned with durability and the FRCP if you're concerned with weight. It has a beefy blade but is still a full flat grind so it cuts really well. The ball bearing lock may feel a little odd to use at first but it does break in, and can be as easy to use as the Axis lock. The only downside to me is that it isn't very pocket friendly because it's pretty wide.

PM2 - Probably the best in pocket. Very useful blade shape with a delicate tip perfect for finer work like Wowbagger stated above. A little slicy-er than the manix 2 with the sacrifice of strength at the tip. The forward finger choil feels great (so does the manix 2). The compression lock is wonderful to use. The only downside to that is a lack of left handed models in more exotic steels (if you are left handed, otherwise this doesn't apply.

Griptilian - Definitely the thickest of all 3. The axis lock is great to use and only gets better over time. The blade shape is great for all tasks, at the sacrifice of some slicing ability. The base model with the copolymer handles feels a little cheap IMO. The steel is the weak point compared to the other 2. The 551-1 is a much nicer knife but a little pricey. You do get great steel though.

See if you can find somewhere around you to handle all three if you can. They all have their pros and cons. If I had to chose, it would probably be the M4 and CF PM2 that's available right now.

Get the Benchmade Griptilian 550BK-1.

The Axis lock is awesome. CPM-20CV steel will last a lifetime. As will the ergonomic G-10 handle.

Blade shape is great, and even sports a hole for opening, like your other two choices. Better warranty.

I'd handle them all, though. They are different enough that you should.

I’m a big fan of all three and doubt you’ll go wrong with any of them.

Grip Pros: Stronger tip, fuller handle
Grip Cons: Not as good at slicing, Axis lock springs can break

Manix 2 Pros: Great ergos, great slicer, Light Weight version available, very good lock
Manix 2 Cons: Takes up more space in your pocket

PM2 Pros: Great ergos, great slicer, lightest regular (G10) version of the group, great lock
PM2 Cons: I don’t have any

My vote goes to the PM2...probably why I have 23 of them o_O

All three are great choices and are in my current top 4.

This is my ranking of your final 3.

1. PM2 (any steel) I only have 17 of them.
2. Manix 2 (G10 version s30v or better)
3. Griprilian (551-1 great steel and better G10 grips)

That is a tough choice between those 3!!! I might lean towards the PM2 in a good steel like Cru-Wear or M390
The griptilian is also great, as is the Manix 2. You really will not be disappointed with any of those.

I'd choose a Mini Grip over all, but that's because I like carrying smaller knives. Personal preference and all..

Between a full sized grip and a Manix, I'd choose the Manix 2 for sure. It just melts into your hand, slices like Spyderco(aka incredibly), and has a great lock.

I'd also choose the Manix 2 over the PM2. I like the compression lock on the PM2 more, but I like literally everything else about the Manix more than the PM2.
