Well it's not that old. Sal gave it to me almost a year ago, but I've been tinkering with it.
I'm sure most of you have seen antiqued Sebenzas, so why not a Sage 2?

First, the blade was sent off to So-Lo here on the forums for treatment. If you follow his channel on Youtube(solosknifereviews), you'll know that he recently began modding knives.
So-Lo sterilized the blade, rounded the spine, then stonewashed it using a method that he developed that creates a fantastic antique look.

While the blade was away, I began the scotch-brite treatment on the scales. I lightly smoothed out the edges of the scales to give it that worn look. When the blade returned, I sharpened it to a 30 degree inclusive polished edge.

Here she is, I'm really impressed with the way this turned out, I love this sterile antique look. :D

Here's a nice shot showing the sterile blade and Randy's(So-Lo) antique stonewash.

Nice! :D

The scales look like they are glowing, and that spine looks round like a Sebenza :D :p

Thanks for the great pictures!

Errrm, I forgot to mention the spine. It was rounded to Sebenza perfection, indeed. :p:D

Looks great! I don't have any in this area that could do the blade. I could do the scotch brite, but then it might look funky with out the complete job.

That's a nice looking Sage. I love the contrast between the polished edge and the rest of the blade. The antiqued blade looks awesome.

Very nice work - Rob and SoLo.

Do you notice any difference in traction after the scotch bright treatment to the scales?

I only scotch-brited the edges of the scales

The centers retain the same texture as from the factory

That looks great Rob!

I like the handle, and also like a stonewashed/tumbled blade over any other finish.

that's a nice look 5.56, are you planning on doing anything to the clip and hardware? that thing looks real nice with no logo's/text on the blade. :D

that is a sweet looking mod.. the overall 'greyness' looks awesome:thumbup:
