This one's going in the safe.

I've seen a few with naked ladies on e-Bay.

Sounds tacky, but the ones I saw were downright beautiful. First-class work by a really gifted artist.

I think the key to choosing scrimshaw is getting something that hasn't been done a thousand times before and yet is appealing.

Since it's ivory, maybe a charging African elephant would be nice.

:)

I've been thinking about this for days and wondering what I would have put on the handles of this knife if it were mine. The only thing I can come up with is to leave it as it is. It's too beautiful to put a signature on! Sometimes plain vanilla is better than a bannana split. Sort of like the keep it simple approach. I did think of a shooting star or a full moon scene that I saw one time, But the Ivory on those handles say alot without using any words.

Yes, it would be a thing you want to consider carefully.......it's kind of like a tattoo.

You better like it, 'cause once you've got it.......you're pretty much stuck with it.

I'm leaning that way myself. I love the feel of the inlays and I don't think I want to do anything to change that.
