This or that?

Hey, I noticed a distinct difference on this one than on my two other traditionals (GEC 71 & 77). The pull ok bother of those is about identical before and after the half stop.

Both blades on this new guy are much lighter pulls before the half stop and the second pull leading to the open position are much more stout.

I don't know it is by design or incidental, but it does make it easier to open but with a pretty firm lockup. I dig it.

Could anyone tell me if this knife would fit into a small sebenza pouch?

You are going to have to state which knife you are asking about.

Thank you. Saved me buying one of it's too small. I was looking for something a bit less bulky. I've got the one you linked. It's pretty thick and pretty large. I was looking for something a wee bit smaller.

Then the small sebenza slip may be the one for you RobertK, as it is probably the next size down from the Mainstreet. 1/4" shorter and 1/2 narrower" than the Mainstreet. The 54 will fit into a sebenza slip and fill it out to the end. You might check with Mike at Collector Knives to see what he'd recommend. http://www.collectorknives.net/accessories/

Glad to see you like the 54. I too enjoy the thwack of opening that knife! I carry mine by itself or in a pouch like GEC offers. I will say though that GEC has some stuff leather with a rough texture. I found a more supple leather through a dealer and it's pretty much a 1:1 fit which covers the knife and makes for easy retrieval from the pouch since you're not digging way down. Shoot me a PM if you haven't bought a pouch and are interested. I like this pouch because it fits in the Fifth pocket on some jeans.

I ended up ordering one from collector knives per the reco above.

I really do like the 54. I wish it was a single blade. I've found I don't care for options. I just want one knife. But the width is not unappealing, and the knife is just awesome. In the future, single blades for me, though.

i've got a #99 farmers lock that i carry almost everyday and have used and sharpened almost to the point of making it a zulu spear. love, love, love it. most any GEC seems to be great knives, but the #99 really works well for me though. be it noted mine is micarta and pretty well scratched up, but that's what i like my users to look like:). good luck!
thanks, Neal

Well fr what it's worth, the large case from CK and the small sebenza case are hissy about identical in size. Both fit the Moose.
