Went kayaking on the Etowah River. My wife took this pic of a banded water snake in action from the bank.
I posted previously about kayak knife suggestions and as of now am sticking to a RAT 3 and Spyderco Salt. (of course the blade show is almost here!)

That is a great pic, and very cool you were there right at that moment!

Awesome shot, judging from the status of the tail fin, I'd say the snake didn't take the fish alive. Gorgeous texture in that photo!

Nature is an amazing thing!!! Awesome pic....props to the wife who is obviously quick on the trigger!

This thread shouldn't be buried under all the gear threads either (re: thread title). ;) Since most other snake threads have been in WSS, I'll move this there.

Great photo!

Incredible picture...I mistook a banded water snake for a copperhead a few weeks ago on a hike with my son. They have very similar colorings for copperheads in our area, but the bands are reversed (wider on the sides with the copperhead). It gave me a spook at first. Tell your wife she took a professional shot...that is simply awesome!

That is SO cool. The really neat thing is that it shows a snake behavior I didn't even know existed. Seriously, excellent work!
