This post moved/Consolidated.Thanks

I would actually prefer kydex. But as I prefer a pretty significant drop to my knife sheath,it would have to be along the lines of the ESEE sheath.I really like the ESEE setup with the nylon backer/drop.I like the top of my knife handle to ride BELOW the bottom of my belt line,or at least no higher than level with the top of my belt. This presents two problems. Most custom kydex rides with the top of the sheath at the belt line on a teklok setup, putting almost the entire handle above the belt.I have also had kydex made for other knives with a kydex drop added to try and correct this and lower the sheath, the problem I find here is the drop is too rigid.I find a kydex drop hard to deal with when sitting, driving, etc. So,kydex would be great if I could find it in the ESEE style with a nylon hinged backer, with the kydex sheath mounted to it.This would also allow the mounting of any number of front pouch/side ferro rod options. However, this is a $100 knife and the custom maker's I have spoken to will charge close to that to build a sheath to my specs, unless I supply the nylon portion from another sheath. Not looking to have a sheath that costs more than the knife riding in it.It's a Gerber Patriot not a Busse custom,I could justify the expense on a better knife.Which leaves me looking for a full nylon/pouch front sheath in the style of the SOB Combat Master as shown above or something similar. Plus I'd really like to trade something I have for a sheath instead of laying out the cash, further putting me into the bargain bin sheath world.I've found some Black Hawk styles that are now discontinued online in the $20-30 range and one of those would work well.I've also considered replacement nylon from SOG and a few other makers who sell theirs in the sub $25 range.
In a perfect world(mine at least) all combat knife sheaths would be made like the ESEE shown here. But even one this one there are some modifications I would make for greater utility and adjustability.

Does the sheath have to have the exact same pocket on the front like the one you pictured? I have a new tan sheath like the one you pictured, just the older version with the zip-up pouch instead of the velcro strap.

I'm not particular about the pouch, just that it has one or the ability to add one.I'm not looking to carry a full SAS survival tin with this knife, although that would be nice. But at least need enough room for a few small items like a ferro rod/striker,diamond stick, and maybe a multi-tool.I've been looking around and the SOB combat master would be the ideal sheath in a full nylon design, and I posted that pic more as a guide to what I am looking for.As stated above,I would love to find a nylon/kydex like the ESEE,but haven't found anyone willing to part with the nylon MOLLE back in a trade deal. And the $60 it would cost(MOLLE back+pouch) from ESEE and then having custom kydex bent for it(another $40-60)would be more than I want to put into a sheath for this knife.Send me some pics of your sheath and if you see anything in the items I have listed for trade that interests you,let me know what you like.

The sheath laying there is mine, I like larger folders or fixed blades. I like Kershaw/Spyderco, etc. I normally use it for my ESEE-6 but I can let it go for the right offer.
